Purchase: Purchased at Pro Shop of local golf course for $15.00 a sleeve.
Pros: I had been very reluctant to fork out $45 to $50 a dozen for a golf balls. Tried most of the other cheaper balls that many other reviewers claim to be as equal to the ProV1 (Precept UTri Tour, Top Flite Buttery Feel etc.). Trust me there is absolutly no comparison in either distance or feel with the other balls to the ProV1x. This ball rockets of the club face very straight and will minimize a mishit slice or hook. I play to 12 handicap with around a 100 to 105 club head speed and this ball outdistances the Precept UTri Tour by around 15 to 20 yards and in my opinion feels much better off the clubface.
Cons: None so far. Some claim the cover scuffs easy like off a tree or other obstacles but what high performance ball doesn't. I have found this ball durable as you can get without sacrificing performance
Quality: Good construction, good durability

Review Summary: Bottom line is if your looking for distance, feel, less spin, do not waste your time and money on the so called intermediate priced balls. I have been there and done that. Spend the extra money you will enjoy it for this ball performs!!

Purchase: Golfsmith. $39.99 a dozen. Wanted to try the x ball to see how it compared to the regular ProV1.
Pros: Slightly straighter ball flight than the regular ProV1. This ball is crazy long if you have the swing speed to make it go. Slightly higher trajectory on the initial launch.
Cons: Not quite as much spin into the green as the regular ProV1. Not a problem if you're playing in soft to regular conditions. Might be to your advantage if you tend to put too much spin on your approach shots.
Quality: Great quality. Soft urethane cover offers performance and durability.

Review Summary: Great ball. Just a matter of preference as far as spin characteristics and launch angle between this and the regular ProV1.

Purchase: The first one I used, I found on the course. Since then, purchased at various places. Hunt for special deals, either online or in stores or at golf shops. Expect to pay in the $30s-$40s per dozen, unless you buy X-outs or "Practice" balls (which are quite good, too, by the way)
Pros: The ProV1x flies farther and truer than any other ball I have ever used, including the regular ProV1. I'm an 80s-90's shooter (bogey-ball), but I could immediately tell the difference when hitting the ProV1x. They say that only "better" players can get the true benefits of this ball? Bah. Forget that dogma. These balls helped me, the average player, as well.
Cons: Price. Do these balls REALLY need to be this expensive?
Quality: Outstanding. They do tend to scuff a bit, but I usually lose one before it becomes anywhere near unplayable.

Review Summary: Simply the best ball out there by far.
