Purchase: EBAY for $200 including shipping in 2007 Pros: I was hitting the 975J (360cc) and I could not make the jump to the watermelon sized 460cc. I favore Titleist drivers because the feedback is so consistent. As soon as you hit the ball, you know where you caught it and where it's going. The 905T did not disappoint. Still true and has a sweet sound, not that hideous ping, like an aluminum baseball bat. Cons: No cons. Quality: Review Summary: I will probably always stay with Titleist drivers as long as they don't do anything stupid with the design. Buy them 102 years after release and save 50% ($200)

Details: 10.5 loft. Graffaloy blue stiff shaft.
Purchase: Paid 200 dollars for the 905T in a golf clearance shop.I pick it up and had to have it.I previously owned 975d steel shaft and just wanted to get into the action of graphite like my playing buddies. Pros: I love this unit I can do anything with it.Hit it high , low ,draw, fade,It is easy to hit but most of all I can hit it really long of the tee.Par 5's of 480 metre or less I can get on for two. This club is awesome! Cons: Initially I didnt like this club or shaft when I took it to the range. It took me 100 balls a few adjustments and then 'Voila' this thing just unleashed itself .Also there is something rattling inside my clubhead and I'm taking it back to see what it is.This happened after the trip to the range so I'm a little disapointed about that. Quality: apart from that rattling everything else is A1. Review Summary: Please beware that the shaft maketh the club. The graffoloy blue is a strong swingers shaft. You must find a shaft to suit your swing speed thats the key.Even with my swing speed which is over 100 something it took a while to get used to this shaft ,but when you do this club is awesome long and straight and versatile. Details: Stiff shaft (graffalloy blue). It has 8.5 degrees of loft on it.
Purchase: I bought this driver as a demo from my local golf store. I paid $150 Canadian (which is about $130 American). I had been playing an old model of driver and needed to hop on to the technology train. Pros: I like the consistency of the driver. Although I am not a great driver of the golf ball, I find that mishits (especially off the toe) end up reasonably well for this type of club (a better players club). Cons: I found the graffalloy blue shaft to be very stiff, as well as low launch. I had this shaft replaced with a Fujikura shaft about halfway through last season and have found it to be easier to hit after this switch. There are also much more forgiving clubs out there, so if this is your only concern, go with a more forgiving and larger clubhead. However, if you are looking for consistency and the ability to work the ball a bit, then you have a driver suited to your game. Quality: Fairly good construction. After two years of playing, only a few scratches on the face of the driver, nothing but minor things. No major damage to the club. Review Summary: A reasonably good club for the better player who is looking for a combination of forgiveness and workability. On 2006-05-18, makress rated this Titleist 905T a 5...(6930)
Details: This is a 400cc, 905T driver with a Speeder shaft (stiff).
Purchase: I was playing with a Cobra SS 380cc driver. It is still a great club, but I do not like the closed club face. I have problems going left and the closed club face didn't seem practical to fix that.I was looking for a neutral faced driver and decided to give Titleist a try. I hit it into a simulator and like the feel. I bought this club off of ebay for $214 and some change after shipping. Pros: It is smooth as butter!!! It took awhile to get used to, as I was going right the first few holes, but after I concentrated on an in to out swing path, I was busting them up the middle. Cons: Nothing so far. Anything bad that has happened is due to a poor swing on my part. Quality: If you hit the sweet spot, the ball goes. Good construction overall. I like the look of the club at address. Review Summary: If you are looking for a different driver, this is a must try. I know it is a little more costly, but it is truelly a cut above some other clubs. Purchase: Edwin Watts Pros: Nice feel, good solid sound but must hit square or perect alignment. Must be precise to have a good contact and good distance so recommended for lower handicap or maybe mid. Cons: Of course it's not a 460cc head which means smaller sweet spot, have to be lower handicaps. Quality: Titleist is noted for one of the best driver/woods but not that forgiving but still best. Review Summary: Final thought ... what it's like after 10 years of new clubs with extra distance :-D On 2006-03-25, Bogey Man rated this Titleist 905T a 5...(6744)
Details: 9.5*, Stiff Speeder Shaft. Regular length.
Purchase: Bought this through Golfsmith (online) for $250.00--they were apparently getting rid of the 905T's in preparation for the release of the 905R. So, between this reduced price and getting close to $100 for my old 983E on consignment at a used sporting goods store, I got the 905T for about $150. Check out Golfsmith to see if they're still selling these at reduced rate. Pros: I've played several rounds with this driver now, and so far I love it. It's head is big enough to give comfort and room for the weekend golfers' inconsistency, but not so big that it feels like a hockey stick or tennis racket. It produces a very understated and sweet sound upon contact, and the ball flight is ideal--mid-high, with a bit of a fade (which is my 'natural' shot). Some have said the club doesn't have the distance of the 983, but I have gained a few yards and actually gained a bit of control. Cons: Nothing so far. Quality: Typical Titleist--high quality. Review Summary: Bottom line: For $150, this could be the best golf-related purchase I've ever made. It's a quality driver, perhaps a bit unforgiving for some, that people with appropriate swing speeds and 'game' will appreciate. I imagine the 905R will be even better, but if you're looking for an upgrade at a reasonable cost (I'm assuming the R's will hit the market at $400+), look for one of the T's at a reduced price. Purchase: I acquired this driver at Golf USA. I have played Titleist drivers for the past 6 years. I first had the 975D then went to the 983K, so being loyal to what I like I tried the 905T after a month or two of looking at other brands. Like I have said before I hit the ball a long way and wanted to hit more fairways. I am an athlete and I understand that equipment doesnt make the player. This driver however sure makes it easier though. I added at least 10 yards on average to already long drives and now rarely miss a fairway. The larger head makes me feel like I cant miss the sweetspot. I really enjoy the feel and sound of this driver. If you combine that to the instant feed back of miss hits and it's the best driver I have ever hit. Pros: I love the feel off the sweet spot, and the feed back when you dont square it up. It's very easy to work. I like the fact that it takes a good player to use it the way it was intended. An average player will get good results but wont be able to tap into the real juice this driver has. Cons: Not much. Quality: Nice classic look. A very solid club. Review Summary: If you are a good player looking for a solid driver with no gimics this is the club for you. On 2006-01-20, Ed rated this Titleist 905T a 2...(6616)
Purchase: Local Pro Shop - Had been using 983K and thought this would be a better driver Pros: As usual titleist makes clubs that are very pleasing to the eye. Simple and very professional looking. Solid and high quality finishing. Club feels good in your hands and makes you feel like a pro. Cons: Disappointment from a performance standpoint. Found the 983K a better all rounder with better distance and forgiveness. Bought a 10.5 deg with NV65S shaft ... could not get it going ... re-shafted it to my personal specs with a Fujikura Vista Tour shaft and it still did not perform as well as my 983K. Found the club to be very sensitive to the little mistakes that we non-pro type golfers make regularly ... small mistakes made is magnified by huge hooks, slices and massive lose of distances ... not a driver for the common masses who shot in the 80s and 90s ... perhaps for the more consistent bunch who can hold their swing in a consistent fashion week in and week out. Quality: Very good quality and from an optics standpoint, I cannot find another driver as attractive and good looking. Review Summary: I think the regular weekly golf mortals would not benefit from this club ... a strong player's club. On 2006-01-11, Marcus Sintoni rated this Titleist 905t a 5...(6589)
Purchase: I had a friends brother in law come out here to Japan where I am stationed. He is 19 years old and he is a scratch golfer I noticed he had the 905t so I asked him to try it a few times. After these couple of days I was convinced and went to ebay where I picked up a 8.5 Degree with a grafalloy Blue S flex for $120 in excellent condition. Pros: This driver looks great at approach and gives me the warm fuzzy feeling I need. The ball comes off the face hot and has a great ball flight. I have a tendency to hit the ball high so the Graffaloy blue helps keep it a little lower which I benefit from. The sound is very distinct and pleasing to the ears. The distance is a little better than average (for me) I hit it consistantly 240-250 yards straight and when I want to give it a little more the shaft allows me to do so with just a bit of a fade and getting me to about 270-280 yards. My swing speed is 115 mph and the shaft does more than keep up. Cons: I couldn't write anything bad about this Driver if someone paid me to. Quality: Typical Titleist Great all around. Review Summary: I will not ever own another driver. This is the one for me. I have tried roughly 12 different drivers of all different brands and nothing so spectacular. Purchase: I acquired this unit from the Pro Shop staffed by Richard Lawless at The Wiltshire. He is the best golf pro in the world. I paid a very respectable £219 for the product. I acquired this to give me some more distance without sacrificing accuracy. Pros: It just oozes quality - it is such a solid golf club and the confidence that it gives you is unbelieveable. It is considerably longer than the Taylormade R7 as well. Cons: The grip on it in the beginning is quite slippy. Put a new one on. Quality: This is one solid golf club - you can rely on this thing time after time after time. It will never ever let you down. Review Summary: This is a great golf club. It has improved my golf no end. I now need to worry about my bunker play, putting, GIR etc. On 2005-10-13, Mart. rated this Titleist 905T a 5...(6305)
Purchase: I recently got a 905T (10.5 degrees, Aldila NV 65 R shaft), partly because I’ve been so impressed with my Titleist 904 fairways. Demoed at a local course, but, call me old fashioned, wasn't prepared to pay the £299 they wanted for a new club. Eventually paid a complete bargain £120 for a good condition 2nd hand club from Ebay. Pros: Like its fairway cousins, the 905T is gorgeous looking club, and sets up so nicely behind the ball. The ball flight is penetrating, and if you catch it sweet the ball really goes. With dodgy range balls I consistently carry 230 yards, and with the lowish trajectory there’s lots of run. My natural out to in swing is compensated for a little by the closed face, which may cause problems if you tend to draw or hook. The noise of the ball off the face is really reassuring – it’s solid sounding, not too hollow like a lot of titanium drivers. Cons: For mid/high handicappers it isn’t the most forgiving stick I’ve ever hit. A bit off centre and you're lucky to make it past 200 yards.
I’m not a fan of the standard Titleist grips – they’re too hard, so I swapped for a tackier, softer Tour Velvet.
The head cover is a bit garish, but that’s just cosmetic.
Quality: Typical Titleist. Beautiful to look at, and top build quality. Review Summary: I like it a lot. Like most Titleists, probably not one for mid or high handicappers On 2005-08-11, Captn Hook rated this Titleist 905t a 2...(6036)
Purchase: I paid under $350 for this club and picked it up from the club I was playing at. I went with the 905 since I crushed it while on a demo with it in LA and then again in Williamsburg, VA. In LA, it was G D YS6+ regular flex in VA it was same G D YS6+ but in stiff shaft. I was really getting into the PRO V 1s with both shafts, but purchased the stiff. Pros: I smashed some drives past where I hit my 983K (Speeder regular flex). I was doing a side by side with the 983 and the 905T demo. Loved the demo, and who knows, could have been the day I was really swinging well, but after the purchase, ugg...
Cons: I didn't realize how closed the club face is on this one. I understand it's set up for the draw, but I'm tellin' ya, I was yankin everything to the left. And again, may have been my swing that day since the two other times I did the demo I smashed it, but I just couldn't shake it the day I made the purchase. So, if you're thinking of this club, don't make my mistake. Go get fitted for a driver. Too much cash to feel like I do now...like I made a mistake. By the way, one of the guys at the club re-gripped with a Golf Pride grip that forces me to keep the face a little more open. I'll try it again in a week or two, but this might end up on Ebay...only hit for half a round and some at the range. Quality: Looks great, I like Titleist except like one of the other players, the head cover comes apart after a few seasons. Feels sold, LOVE that Graphite Design YS6+ shaft, just awesome. I just can't hit this one. Review Summary: You know, sometimes I think I should just stay with one driver, but it's hard not to think that something that is new can help your game, especially when you have a couple of good experiences with a demo of the club. Lesson is, get fitted. Worth the few bucks I guess. Also, anyone think that this club might be a little too closed? Like could I have been the lucky guy to have purchased the only defect? Yeah, I doubt it too...but...I rate this club a 2, but only because I can't hit it. On 2005-08-03, makoman rated this Titleist 905T a 5...(5995)
Purchase: Got the 905T at NY Golf in Hicksville, NY, they have a simulator there and after hitting many different drivers, this one felt the best and went longer and staighter then all the rest, G2, R7, etc. Pros: Long and straight, good feel and sound, not too big. Cons: It was expensive, paid $400 with NV-s shaft Quality: Great Review Summary: Great stick, hope it keeps me in the fairway. On 2005-07-08, Joaquin rated this Titleist 905t a 5...(5826)
Purchase: $310 off of ebay. Pros: Sound, trajectory which is not as low as expected. I also love the roll I get after a shot. The sound is solid. Cons: It has that larger profile at address, much like the new R7 ht. I prefer the higher face as far as looks at address, but when I can get 270 yards with an average swing speed, I'll take it. Quality: Simple. Titleist. Review Summary: First Titleist driver and I love it. On 2005-07-01, Swank Golfer rated this Titleist 905T a 5...(5786)
Purchase: International Golf in Woodland Hills, CA. This always has lower prices than Golfsmith, which is down the street! I bought it for $359 with the Graphite Design YS-6 Stiff shaft, within a month of it hitting the stores. Golfsmith had it for $429!!! Pros: Hot, hot face. Did I say hot? Literally jumps off the face so solid and straight, the ball has no chance to bend. This is a solid club, and you can still work the ball around quite easily. Had me swining out of my socks the first couple of weeks because it felt so light and airy to me, as I was upgrading from an older driver from 5 years ago. The T face is a nice, perfectly sized pear-shape - I bought that T because the S was smaller and that was too similar to my last club, and I wanted to make some serious changes. Cons: I thought that it was too light for me at first. I was swinging this so fast around my body, I was losing balance! Then I realized that all you have to do is to make a good, solid contact and let the club do the work. Took me about 2 weeks to get used to the lightness - only because my last Driver was that much heavier, I guess, and it was an old driver from years back. Quality: Solid, solid, solid. I don't think you can hit a bad shot with it. Review Summary: An exceptional driver. But I think you have to pick the right shaft for the head. I tried hitting the Graffaloy Blue which has a mid kick point and did not like it as much, felt too much like a dead stick with that shaft. I got it for an excellent price, and it's worth every dollar. I'll definitely be using this one for a good 5 or 6 years. On 2005-05-29, Nick O. rated this Titleist 905T a 2...(5574)
Purchase: I found this driver at golf galaxy in houston for 400.I purchased it because a friend of mine has one. Pros: The sound of this driver is amazing and it has a nice boring trajectory. That's about it though. Cons: Despite the great feel and trajectory this driver was very short off the tee.The shot it produces looks good but has absolutely no distance. When hit on the heel or toe it hooks or slices. Also very pricey Quality: Construction and quality are great, typical Titleist. Review Summary: The bottom line is that the 983 k or e are much better for the price, the 983's look better also. On 2005-05-11, lambo rated this Titleist 905T a 5...(5498)
Purchase: Bought at trade price (£220) from local pro shop. Pros: I used to have a Callaway GBB2+ driver. I just could not keep the ball down in the wind with it. The ball flight was just far to high. This was great downwind but into the wind just forget about it. Anyway so I bought this new Titleist. I would say its the best driver I have ever hit. You get a gorgeous low penetrating ball flight with it and it is so easy to control and shape. I love the thud you get of it to. So much better than the crap ping you get from the usual titanium drivers. Its also legal unlike my Callaway driver. I dont know why because Ian hitting it longer. Cons: Pretty much nothing. Quality: Titanium 9.5 degree head. Graphite aldila NV S-flex shaft. Golf pride grip. Review Summary: On 2005-04-25, Anonymous rated this Titleist 905T a 4...(5437)
Purchase: Got it on a 90 day playability guarantee from GOlfsmith Pros: High launch angle and has up to 10-20 yards more carry than the 983K driver that I previously owned. ALso a lot easier to hit due to a 400CC head compared to the 365CC of the 983K Driver. Cons: As usual its a Titleist.... If you miss hit it you'll pay for it. Not the driver for beginners, but its a must have for die hard golfers seeking more carry out of their driver, longer by 10-20 yards than a 983K and it is definitely at least 30 yards longer than the expensive R7 by Taylormade. Quality: Get look at address and it has a closed face which promotes a draw. Love the classic Titleist pear shape of this driver. Review Summary: Not a forgiving driver, you need to have your swing mechanics online or else it will make you pay for it. But for very serious and consistent players this is the driver for you.
