On 2004-02-22, tommy R rated this Titleist 975 L-FE a 5...(2913)

Purchase: i acquired this driver brand new with headcover (still in package) for $180.00 canadian, delivered right to my door!i have been using the 975 D for 4 years and thought i would demo some of the newer technology.i have tried just about everthing out there, but as far as consistent,in the fairway drives, the 975 f-le is the driver for me.
Pros: my normal ball flight is a medium high draw, and a miss would result in a hook or a pull.my 975 D was a great driver when hit well, but would hook badly if hit with a slightly closed clubface.(although in the 975D's defense it was not the club's fault it hit the ball with a closed face...)i find with the 975f-le i can still hit a slight draw off the tee,and can easily work the ball left to right.i am much more consistent with this driver, and find more fairways even with less then perfect contact with the ball.very classy look at address.(the same shape and colour as the 975D except a little bigger profile)
Cons: not much i dislike about this driver.a different sound then the 975D,but when you hit many more fairways, you can get used to it in a hurry....about the same length as the D for me,but more controllable, and as a result i have much more confidence in a tight tree lined fairway.
Quality: i don't think titleist has ever produced a club that did not look and perform the way it was intended(of course this club is not for everyone)but i am very pleased with the fit and finish.the shaft is a factory installed graphite design YS-6 xs and the dark blue shaft compliments the grey of the clubhead nicely.

Review Summary: i think the golfer who should try this driver is a natural drawer of the ball, who with a miss tends to hook or pull the ball off the tee.i'm not saying it will stop all the bad shots, but it certainly helped me hit many more fairways with less then perfect swings.considering what i paid for this driver brand new,i think it is by far the best "deal" in my bag.hope my review helps someone considering this great driver.

Purchase: I got a huge deal on ebay for 116 dollars with shipping...if you want golf clubs for cheap go with ebay...
Pros: Very sexy looking club, Im loving how the club looks like at address with that pear shape, it really boosts confidence. The big head is just calling for you to swing hard. My swing speed is about 95 mph and with this club, it has rised to the upper 90's and even up to 100. Swinging faster doesn't break you. Hitting consistently isn't a problem either if you just put a good swing at it. I am now bombing consistently 250-280 yard draws. Sexy drivers get you sexy drives.
Cons: nuthin...if I had a kid, I would have gotten this club for his driver.
Quality: Very attractive pear head cosmetics, just regular Titleist quality. Who could ask for more.

Review Summary: If you don't buy this club or even give it a swing...your an idiot.

Purchase: Exchanged MacGregor VFOIL Hi Launch 410 CC for Titliest 975 L-FE at US Golf in Sylvania, Ohio. Price $189.
Pros: When I got the club I thought that the fade enhancing feature would be good since I tend to draw/hook the ball. Well the results are a much straighter ball flight and I am about 10 yards longer than my Biggest Big Bertha. The Callaway has 9 degree of loft and the Titliest has 8.5 degrees. Both have stiff graphite shafts. The trajectory is a little lower than my Callaway but I like the ball flight. I have noticed extra roll which I attribute to the lower ball flight but I still carry the call just as far. I have noticed that if I get too aggressive with the club I can still hook the ball but it is reduced in comparison to my Bertha.
Cons:
Quality: This is a Pear Shaped Titanium Head, with Speeder stiff flex graphite shaft. This is a very solid feeling club. Titlest quality as expected and the Pear Shaped head is very appealing to my eye at address.

Review Summary: This is a very nice club. Appealing to the eye and is everything I was looking for in my next driver. Has increased my confidence when standing over the ball.
