Details: Titleist 975J,312cc Titanium 9.5 degrees w a stiff graffalloy prolite 35 shaft (maroon colour) and golf pride soft grip.
Purchase: Bob Martin's golf in london. I bought is used for 90+Tax (canadian). The club was in near new condition...must have sat in someone's basement for a few years! I bought this club to replace a no name lower end club that I had been using. I wanted length but with a lot better accuracy. My old club was long but i couldn't tell you where the ball was coming down. Pros: the unit seems to be the most durable club I have ever tried. I compared this club to all the new 460CC name clubs out there and for some reason this by far hit the best for me. I find the club ultra forgiving. I have hit it off the toe and heel in play and it just seems to correct it for me. I use to slice but now I seem to draw the ball consistantly. Even with 9.5 degrees I get a good mid trajectory that doesn't balloon on me. I was afraid that this club would be to penetrating but it's not at all. Cons: the quality is unreal and it's long and super forgiving. I hit this club easily 260-315. I had some Nike, Taylor Made and Callaway clubs that I couldn't hit past 260 when I was comparing them. Quality: Top notch...this thing will last another 10 years. Review Summary: Seriously check out this club. It was released in 2001 but I found it really holds it's own with todays clubs.

Purchase: My son's friend was using one (he's a 3 handicap so he must know something-I'm a 12.) After the round I swung it a few times and I fell in love (before ever hitting a ball). The feel and looks told me to try my own. Bought a barely used one to try it out from my local golf center, who let me trade in my last mistake, and it wound up costing me $80. Best 80$ I ever spent. Am now being fitted for a new one. Pros: The feel is awesome, especially on center hits. The ball seems to rocket off the face. I had to fix a slight hook that I developed at first because I finally had a club that was true, but now I can hit it straight or hit a fade at will. Off centers still get out there and stay on or near the fairway. Cons: Nothing, even the price is a bargain for the "one". Quality: I've played about 15 rounds and it's still like new. It looks great and feels great. Review Summary: I'm ecstatic that I didn't need to go the huge clubheads to get the perfect club for me. My brother gave it a couple hits at the range and feels the same way. Especially after I knocked about 6 straight to the back fence about 20 yards past him, which I could never do before. I'll probably save up enough to get a backup, jus in case. On 2003-04-29, FraNKiE TTT rated this Titleist 975J a 3...(1220)

Cons: Ummm....The forgivness is not that great at all!! Quality: Great qualitty always is with titleist Review Summary: Great club for low handicapers when u hit it right this thing goes...Not very forgiving but large sweet spot makes up for that!! Purchase: Chick's Sporting Goods, paid $329 Pros: This is the best driver I have ever hit with, the club works best with a normal swing. It gave me 15 more yards than my old Deep Red 315cc driver. My mishit shots are straighter and longer. I really enjoy taking this club out of my bag, it gives me a great deal of confidence when I walk up to the tee box.
Cons: It's one of the most expensive drivers on the market. Quality: Excellent craftmanship. Review Summary: The most important part of getting the Titliest driver was the right shaft. My swing speed was prefectly match with the ultralite 60. I'm really glad I spent the time trying out the different Titleist shafts. On 2002-09-05, Rusty rated this Titleist 975J a 5...(507)
Purchase: I purchased the driver on the advise of a friend who was using a 975D. I bought the unit ( 9.5* regular graphite shaft)at a discount store in St. Louis that had it priced at $250. Being from Kansas City, I did not have any luck finding the club under $300. The golf course I live on had a demo day that gave me a chance to use the club before I bought it. Pros: This driver is outstanding. Old guys like me that are a "little" chuncky in the waiste sometimes think we are still 20 and try to play that way. This club can do it for you. My last driver was a callaway steelhead plus 10*. Great club but no comparison. In my opinion there was very little forgiveness in the club. Same held true with the Orlimar that I had before the callaway. The 975J is long, true and VERY forgiving. Hossle and toe hits still result in long drives. I am an average golfer about 13-15 handicapper. My average drive with the Steelhead was about 220. I now am a consistent 250+ You can't fo wrong with this club. Cons: Absolutely nothing. Purchase: I bought this driver off the Internet,eBay, almost new for 265.00. Pros: I never tried the Titleist because I thought just the real good players could hit this club. How wrong I was! Tried a demo on a fluke, and found I hit this driver straighter and farther than any driver I have had. Sets up easily and feel and sound are both solid. Does not sound like an empty beer can like many on the market, more like real wood. Gives confidence at address plus a beautiful, conventional, look. Cons: Nothing, so far. Quality: So far the club seems to be very well made and not a real fragile finish like some. Review Summary: Best driver I have ever hit and I have tried many. Purchase: I got this club after testing out various drivers for play in College. I was using a BBB and the closed face wasn't working well with me. I originally planned to use a 975D 6.5 but after I tried the J on the range, I was convinced it was for me.
Paid 329 with Grafalloy 3.5 shaft Pros: The best thing about the 975J is how long and solid it is. Even with effortless swings, the ball just flies off the clubface. I thought that the feel would not be like the D, but it was still very close.
I really enjoy the fact that the face is square. Inspires much confidence. Cons: I really don't have much not to like. I never hit the driver this well before. Quality: It is in excellent quality. Even after I snapped the driver(hitting off the grass at the range I hit a ball and a rock) Titleist immediately replaced it with a new one within a week. That is awesome. Review Summary: Best driver I have ever played. The new level of confidence off the tee is surreal. I step up to the tee not hoping for a good drive now, but knowing that it will be just fine regardless of what I do. On 2002-04-09, SPC rated this Titleist 975J a 5...(32)
Purchase: I purchased this club through an internet auction site(ebay) for a significantly lower than retail price. I paid $290 with shipping included for a brand new 975J with the headcover. I previously owned a 975D and read about the higher launch and increased forgiveness of the J, so I went to demo it a the range. Pros: I pretty much had instant feedback from this club. The ball came off of the face hotter and it did fly quite a bit higher than the D. My impression was that the ball flight was closer to a 3 wood with the long range of a driver. I decided on a 9.5 degree J which hit the ball much higher than my 9.5 degree D. I found my "targets" at the range more often than I did with the D. I am not a player who can choose to shape a desired shot, but with the J I found that I could hit right to left shots quite easily. I rarely hit slices anymore when I miss. I usually miss with hooks. Cons: I had to experiment with shafts before settling on one that I liked. Make sure that you know what type of shaft your swing requires. Steep swings will produce quite high, almost ballooning shots. This is no good when hitting into the wind. Sometimes, when trying to draw the ball, I get big hooks as a result. Quality: When I got this club it was in exquisite condition. The finish has stayed true through bad shots with no chipping or scratching. This club has a great feel when swung smoothly. Review Summary: This is a very solid, consistent club which can be played aggressively, with excellent results.
