Purchase: Was Looking for a Driver to go with new set of Irons.
Bought from Tee Time Golf in Wayne, PA.
Retailed at $460.00 I took it home for $125.
Demo Model with 10 swings on it.
Driver was unwrapped 3 days before I bought it.
spent weeks trying out dozens of drivers, all make and models shaft combos and loft.
Titleist was the top choice over the TMade 580 and King Cobra 427.
Pros: Easy to hit, great distance, very assuring of the Tee. Keeps you in the fairway all day long.
I have had the club 12 days (bought july 5th 2003)and played 3 rounds with it. Never really had a driver before, always used 3w for Control. My rounds have been consistently lower by 7-9 strokes.
Game improving club. I do not get that fade affect as mentioned as part of the natural club performance.
Mishits still travel a good distance, stays out of the rough. Current Hcp is 8, couple more rounds with the driver will help bring it down. Do no pass up this club. Make sure you demo as much as you can at a reliable training facility that gives you "detailed" feedback. Research is key.
Passed up buying a TMade 580, Cleveland 400, & KCobra 427. 975LFE was by far much more consistent, club really helps you take aim at where you want to go. Head may only be 350cc but that does not make a bit of difference. Bigger is NOT better, it is just as good.
Go to Golfdom Golf at the King of Prussia Mall and get a swing analysis done or go to Mainline Golf Training Center in Wayne and use the Virtual golf Monitor. Either of these Places will set you up with the right shaft combo as well.
Cons: Stock shafts that are supplied are at best horrible.
Get a new shaft ASAP (UST, Fujikura, Harrison)with Winn Grip.
YS-6 stiff feels like you are swinging a rope. Real sloppy, Club head may be a Bore-Thru to grip the shaft but the tip is not strong enough to keep it rigid.
UST ProForce shafts are $20 to $30.
Material and Paint are easily scarred.
Quality: After new shaft was installed the club was perfect and remains as such.
Multi-piece head is explosive.
True Titleist quality.
Review Summary: Money well spent, next driver will be of same manufacturer.
Will not be buying a new driver for another few years.
Hope Titleist does not change there fundementals in that time.
Total satisfaction.
