Purchase: Purchased at Golfsmith in Pasadena for $340 out the door, thanks to 15% off coupon. (I couldn't resist)
Pros: Good hits produce monster hits of up to 310 yards (my longest), about 250 yards of penetrating carry followed by tons of roll. My normal hits with my other driver, a 975 J-VS, goes 275 on solid hits. Mishits, when struck high, low or toward the heel, produce acceptable results with minor distance loss. Head winds don't scare me with this driver in my hands.
Cons: Toe shots produce some of the ugliest low quackers I have ever seen in a driver. Also, on narrow courses, I find that I retreat back to my 975 J-VS.
Quality: Excellent finish. Quality control at Titleist is top-notch.

Review Summary: I was skeptical to hear that 13-year-old Michelle Wie hits the ball 300 yards with one of the new Titleist drivers. After hitting the 983E, I can see why, mostly because of the tremendous roll produced by this driver.
