On 2009-03-02, Reece rated this Titleist 909F3 a 5...(8287)

Details: With a pear profile and deep face, the Titleist 909F3 is a high performance fairway that delivers mid launch with low spin. The factory installed SureFit Swingweight Screw helps to provid a precise head to shaft match whch gives great feel and flight. This is the 18 degree model.

Purchase: I brought this club from Nevada bobs and it cost me 250 (cash) with Matrix Ozik Xcon-6 shaft golf pride multi-compound grip and custom fitting. I chose to change to this club because mine was a bit old now (904 F) and was full of medieval technology.
Pros: I love the compact look and the classy sole but the thing that made me hit 150 balls on the range with this club was the crisp feel and sound. The perfect symphony of shaft and club caused me to gain a minimum of 30 yards on my old club. The clubs do fly flatter than my old model and sat at address better. The heads look like the Mizuno F60's shape but fly's off the face much hotter and flatter flight with the Matrix Ozik Xcon for unobtainable distance with control.
Cons: The lower spin means that the flight is less workable and this was a good quality which I found in the Titleist 906 F2 when i demoed them but because of this the ball travels further and has more forgiveness but put a mid to high handicapper swing on it and you see why it is the better players club.
Quality: The quality is great but the face scratches very easily but the sole holds up to all kinds of punishment.

Review Summary: I would recomend this club to any one of a handicap of 13 or lower. And with the Matrix shaft it is a fairway finding beast.
