Purchase: I purchased this from White Flint Golf Park in Rockville, Maryland. The set was custom fitted 2 degrees flat, standard length with True Temper Dynamic Gold S300 Steel shafts with M580 corded grips. I got a discount so I paid $650.
Pros: I have always been a fan of Titleist products. Years ago, I wanted to buy the 981's, but my ego got the best of me so I ended up purchasing the blade-like 990's. There were too many ups and downs with the 990's. One round I'd be shooting great scores and then some rounds when my swing was not perfect, I'd shoot not so great rounds. Since 990's were difficult to hit, I thought I'd try blades. So after selling the 990's, and owning Cleveland TA1's, Mizuno MP-14's, and Titleist forged blades, I decided to move back to a more forgiving blade. I recently purchased the very forgiving Ping I3 blades, but even though they were extremely forgiving, I wanted to own something more workable. I found the answer in the 762's. The 762's are slightly more forgiving than the 990's, but are also very workable. The best thing I like about the iron set is that it makes thin shots look good :) The feel is extremely good for a casted cavity back club. The consistency throughout the set is very good. If you are looking for accuracy, these irons are the best!
Cons: What I don't like about this set is that not many people know about this set. Maybe Titleist decided to spend more money to market their other lines. So, when my friends ask what I play, most have never heard of the 762's. I guess it is a secret! I guess I could have purchased the more known MP-33's or something, but in golf, it's the final score that counts. I'm starting to consistently beat my lower handicap friends. Working the ball is extremely easy. If you occasionally drive the ball in the woods, but want to work the ball around the trees to hit the green in regulation, rather than punching out, add these irons to your arsenal. One thing that I don't like is that they don't have Sergio or Tiger on their staff. They only have older golfers closer to being eligible for the Champions tour on staff and so their reputation is starting to be "for OLD people."
Quality: The construction and quality is consistent with Titleist's reputation. I would say that Titleist made the irons flawless. Their quality control might be the same or close to the industry leader in quality, PING.

Review Summary: If you are capable of hitting blades, but want a touch more forgiveness for more consistent scores, the 762's are the answer. The feel, workability and looks are great. I do not have any buyer's remorse after purchasing this set. My search for the perfect set is over.

Purchase: Wow, what a surprise. Let me start by saying that I have NEVER been a fan of Titleist irons in the past. Quite frankly I have never have played a set of Titleist irons that I liked enough to want to own. Have been playing forged cavity backs, but while I absolutely love the feel that a well struck ball gives, I also hate the huge distance loss with a shot that misses the sweet spot by fractions of an inch. I just was sick of the heavy penalty for being a mid handicapper. I hit these Titleists after speaking with a club pro and a club maker who both agreed that Titleist may be stretching things a bit as a marketing move in claiming that these are geared towards better ball strikers. While they will work fine for those players, the 762’s really are a game improvement club also. I purchased these from a local off site specialty shop after having them custom fitted with DGS300 shafts.
Pros: They have the cavity, low centered weighting, juiced lofts and thin face of a game improvement iron but combine those features with the miniscule offset, traditional size head and setup of a players club. All of which are features that fit my game and requirements to a tee.
Cons: While no cast iron can really match the feel of a good forged iron, I do think that the 762’s have a great feel when nutted, and don't kill you like forged when you miss. To me the biggest difference between the feel is the disparity between a well struck ball and one where you have missed the sweet spot. The difference in the fell of a well hit or a poorly hit ball just isn’t as great as with a forged club. But with use you certainly are getting enough feedback through your hands to let you know what is going on with contact. And a well struck ball feels and sounds pure.
Quality: Typical Titleist quality. That is to say top of the line construction and quality.

Review Summary: In short, a set of well made, great feeling irons that anyone from a single digit handicap to a 18 could make work for them, great sticks!

Purchase: $692 delivered via eBay
Pros: Outstanding irons! Ordered with Tour Flighted Rifle shafts. Feel very solid, but the ball comes off the face of the club extremely soft! Good distance - comparable to X-14's used previously, but without that occasional 20+ yard "surprise" shot that the Callaways might provide. Perimeter weighting helps compensate for off center shots - little distance or accuracy lost.
Cons: So far, nothing!
Quality: Delivered exactly with the custom shaft and specs that I ordered.

Review Summary: This 6 handicapper would recommend highly!
