Purchase: I'm 15, and I bought these irons off of Ebay for around $200. I had to buy them off the net since we don't have much selection here in alaska without ordering offline or through the shop. Pros: I like them alot. They are the perfect mid muscle-back iron. I'm a 10 handicap. They are so soft off of hard ground, and very solid feeling off of soft ground. The weather is varying here in Alaska and it can be windy and dead calm the next. With these clubs you can hit all kinds of shots with them, in the wind I will hit knockdown shots from 150-100 yards in. If your in dead calm weather you can aim right at the pin. These irons are extremely accurate and really keep your trajectory the way you want it to be in the shot. I like the way that Titleist made the longer irons more offset, but decereases the offset as you come more into the 8 iron through pitching wedge, it really gives the the power to work the ball and put spin on it. Cons: Can be difficult to hit off of the tee, so I tee it up as low as it will go, so that I get the soft feeling. Not a huge sweet spot, it is about the size of a nickel. Quality: The construction was well thought of by Titleist, they made sure that these irons were going to be winners. The steel shafts give it that extra weighting that keeps your swing in a smooth tempo instead of trying to hit too hard. Review Summary: I love these irons, if you are looking for irons that are cavity but the control of muscle then these are for you! I'd say if you have a good smooth sming and hit the sweetspot majority of the time then buy these! Good deals of brand new ones on Ebay!

Purchase: I bought these irons this past spring at the willows pro shop in Saskatoon.
I was looking for a step up from the grosly oversized callaways i was playing before, i thougt those looked nice for $600CDN (about $400 american), they were new when i bought them.
Pros: They are amazingly smooth and accuracte with a high drawing ball flight, ive lost my long irons low-right a few times, but as ive always said "Its not the arrow, its the indian"
The mid/short irons are super accurate and stop on a dime with any medium/soft ball. Cons: Nothing really. Quality: Ive always fancied Titleist clubs and balls, they make the highest quality club ive ever played, if they could just find a way to make the rust on the Scottys stop. Review Summary: Super clubs, BUY THEM. On 2002-08-12, Bob Simmons rated this Titleist 981 a 5...(391)
Purchase: I ordered a new set of 981's from National Golf in Spokane, Washington. I tried the demo in the shop and they set up and hit just to my liking. I paid $599 for the set of 3-Wedge. They came with the Tri Spec regular flex shafts. Pros: The irons are very accurate to the green. I have a tendancy to hit a draw and these irons keep my draw in line. The long irons are my weakness and these clubs help me greatly. I just got my first hole in one on at 180 yards with the 5 iron. Cons: The 3 iron has a tendancy to go right on me. But that has more to do with my swing then the iron. Quality: The quality of the irons are superior and Titleist has a superior product. I have had no problems the the irons. Review Summary: I would recommend these irons to any low to mid handicap golfer that appreciates a classic look and feel in an iron. The short irons are very accurate.
