Purchase: I purchased this putter online for $249 on 9/2003. It arrived within 5 days, free shipping. This is the Studio Stainless Newport 2 33"/350. Pros: I purchased a 33"/350 gram Newport 2, after using a cut-down 32" Ping Pal 4 for close to 10 years. The Newport 2 has great balance to it, with definitely more head feel than a Ping. I love that they add 10 grams to every inch short of standard. I also like that you can order this putter in different lengths (33-35"), and lie angles. This putter has a tremendously soft feel when hit pure, with a more muted sound (not much "click"). I swear it's the most pure feeling in golf. Even distance balls can feel very soft with this putter. Great feedback as well - you know when you hit it well, and when you don't. However, I don't agree with the comments that this putter is unforgiving. I think slight toe and heel mishits still travel as intended. In my opinion, the slight mishits just don't feel as soft and pure (but go just as straight with close to the same distance). You do need to make sure that your stroke is on, or the putter will let you know (by feel). I would characterize Scotty's as having a great head/shaft balance, great feel/feedback, and they putt a consistent roll on the ball. Cons: Price. Quality: This putter is pretty much Scotty's version of a heavier Ping Anser 2. The real difference is that this is milled from a billet of steel, with a perfectly flat face (4 degrees of loft). This is a high quality putter, in terms of construction and appearance. However, it can scratch easily because it's a soft stainless steel. For the money, my paintfill could have been perfect, as one of the letters was slightly missing some paint. No biggie. Review Summary: I think I've found a putter that I will keep in my bag for a very very long time. This putter hits it so pure with a very soft feel. Whether it's a 3 footer or 20 footer, I really feel confident standing over every putt. I don't typically sink 20 footers, but already I've done so with this.

Purchase: I paid $299.00 for this putter at Washington Golf in Timonium, MD after having tried some other Scotty Cameron putters. Pros: First of all, this putter is beautifully crafted, using a variation of the classic
Ping Anser 2 design with which I have always been the most comfortable. It is a delight to the eyes, easy to align and feels perfectly balanced in my hands. The feel is soft, yet firm, if that's not a contradiction and I find I have much better distance control than I have had with the many other putters I've used over the years.
The aesthetics of a putter shouldn't make a difference in how well one putts, but this putter is so elegant that it gives me the feeling of having a fine surgical instrument in my hands. A bit far-fetched, perhaps, yet it inspires confidence, and that's worth a couple of strokes a round, or more.
This putter, like other Scotty Cameron products, is expensive but considering the fact that I (and most of us) use it more often than any other club, including the driver, I think it is worth the investment. Cons: Quality: Beautifully constructed in classic Ping Anser 2 style yet more elegant and easier on the eyes. The 303 stainless steel provides for a wonderful and responsive feel and Scotty Cameron's designs on the club face are "cool." Review Summary: I doubt if there is a better putter being made these days. I have tried many others, and liked many others (Ping, Odyssey, Tear Drop, Wilson 8802, Boss of the Moss, etc., but this Scotty is by far the best, in my opinion. Yes, it's expensive, but worth every penny, especially when you consider that people are spending $300-$600 on drivers these days. Purchase: I picked this putter up at a local pro shop for $249.99. It's 33 inches long and weighs in at 350 grams, a rare configuration to find since most retail stores only carry SC putters in 35 inches. Being a big fan of the SC putter line, I figured it was about time I picked up one for myself. Pros: First of all, I was really fortunate to get this putter in my desired length of 33 inches without having to order direct from SC/Titleist. This putter is fantastic. Feels like butter at impact, looks great at address, and is great at giving feedback from your putts. The putter is also very pleasing to the eye. Comes with an atomic red SC headcover with divot repair tool. Cons: Very, very, very expensive and the constant upkeep of the putter can be a drag. Putter is unkind in terms of mishits. Quality: Scotty Cameron by Titleist make the highest quality putters out there. Very durable finish on the club, plus...after long use and wear from countless rounds of golf, you can send it back to Titleist to get it refinished if you'd like. For $70 dollars they'll refinish the putter head, put on a new shaft and grip, and give you a new head cover. Review Summary: In terms of feel and performance, Scotty Cameron makes the best putters on the market. This is the best putter I've ever used and I have gone through a lot of them. If you have the money and are in search of a high quality well performing putter, the Studio Stainless Newport 2 is a great one. I do not recommend any Scotty Cameron putters for golfers who are not precise in their putting. This putter is very unforgiving on mishits. Definately for the stronger putter.
