On 2004-09-29, Dave - shoots low 80s rated this Titleist 256.12 a 5...(4509)

Purchase: I purchased this item brand new on ebay for $70 - a great deal. I'm definitely sold on buying golf eq. on ebay. Super discount and flawless delivery from ebay sellers so far. Typical deliveries only take one calendar week after payment.
Pros: This wedge is incredible. I got the 256.12 (i.e. 56 deg. loft with 12 deg. bounce) first on ebay and 2 days later ordered a 260.08 and 252.08 to replace all three of my old Purespin wedges. I can't believe what a difference good wedges make! I replaced my old Purespin diamond faced sand wedge with this club and got immediate positive results. I hit this club from all lies and get great results. It glides through firm and soft sand like butter. I received this wedge before my 260 and 252 but couldn't wait for the others to show up before I tried this one. I found myself grabbing this wedge all day instead of my old Purespins (even if it was the wrong wedge for the yardage) just because of how good it felt and how straight I hit it. I can't believe that I waited so long to get good quality wedges. The stopping power is also incredible. Far superior to my old "Diamond Faced" Purespin clubs. In summary: Looks: 5 Quality: 5 Feel: 5 Distance: consistent (I hit my SW approx. 95 yrds.)
Cons: Well, this is a stretch because I love this club. However, I got the chrome plated version of this wedge and when the sun is just right (or wrong I should say) it is possible to get a glint in your eye from the reflection. They do come in oil can and black nickel finishes that might help this problem. It is a very minor distraction, however.
Quality: Construction quality is top notch - just like you would expect from Titleist. Deep, sharp, square grooves with flawless plating. High quality grip and shaft.

Review Summary: I recommend the Titleist Vokey wedges to golfers of all skill levels. The fact that the club has such good feel promotes confidence when hitting the ball which can only help your game. My success rate in getting out of the sand in one stroke used to be about 80%. Since I bought this wedge three weeks ago it has been 100% (6 rounds of golf with probably 15 sand shots. Sounds like a lot of bunkers. Do you think I was aiming for the sand on purpose just to try this club?)I give this club my highest recommendation.
