On 2009-09-28, NJtechguy rated this Top Flite Freak a 4...(8555)

Details: Bought for $15.95 at a large department store.

Purchase: Purchased after a ball fitting. I was recovering from arm surgery and needed extra distance.
Pros: They fly 15 to 20 yards further than other distance balls and can be spun on the greens with full swings.
Cons: Pitches and chips are a challenge since the balls seems to want to keep going once it's struck. Also the added distance on all clubs in your bag can make club selection difficult.
Quality: Excellent quality and the ball is very durable.

Review Summary: This is a distance ball that delivers on it's promises. For the money it's a tremendous value and the dimple in dimple technology really delivers a nice ball flight. If you're a hooker or slicer be aware that this ball will amplify those tendancies.

On 2008-07-02, DeeFW rated this Top Flite Freak a 4...(8129)

Details: Golf ball, white, with hex dimples, with smaller dimples within those dimples, like with the D2's.

Purchase: How: Bought them. Where bought: Wal Mart in Evans, GA. Why: Bored with playing Loco's for so long. I still have a box and a half of those.
Pros: Funny commercials and video's with Kenny Mayne on the Top Flite website. The ball has the dimple in dimple design like the D2 does. The outer, larger dimples are the hex dimples like the Callaway balls have. It's not as hard as one would think. I got tons and tons of roll with this pellet. Good for someone with a bump and run kind of game. Don't expect to spin this one back on the green like a Pro V1 or something like that. Distance is what it does best.
Cons: Nothing really.
Quality: Surlyn cover, two piece ball. Good quality. Stayed shiny and clean looking after being smacked around for awhile.

Review Summary: These are good balls for someone who plays a bump and run kind of game. They are good in the wind, so if you are playing somewhere like west texas, you should be good to go. Will I buy more, probably not. Nothing really stuck out to me about them over any other Top Flite ball I've played, and I've played a lot of them.
