Top Flite Z-Balata 90 Golf Balls - Reviews

Purchase: Originaly purchased a dozen of these golf balls during last year and received a dozen free as a xmas present. Price paid was between C$10 - 15 per dozen.
Pros: Cheap price.
Cons: Poor quality. The balata cover is supposed to give a softer feel to the ball. On the very first strike the cover was left scuffed and on repeated strikes more scuffing, cuts and impact marks were noted on the ball. This all on a ball that was hit into a net, never-mind on a golf course. The original dozen balls bought was given to one of my playing partners and from the very first time he played with them he complained that they were not of a decent quality. I had not believed him as like me he is a beginning golfer. The balls did not last as within a short period of time he lost/threw them all away. Most balls did not even last a full 18 holes before they were so scuffed and marked that they were just discarded. Becaused of the way in which the balls were easily scuffed and cut I sent them back at my cost to Calloway. Postage cost more than the balls price. Sofar they have not followed up to let me know about the quality or this particular ball.
Quality: Feels and looks like refurbished golf balls. I have purchased other refurbished balls and these have a similar look about them.

Review Summary: I dont believe that these balls should still be produced. I feel that the technology of golf ball development is now so far ahead of these balls that production should be scrapped. Purchasing these balls to me is a waste of cash. I rather play the XL 3000 which I have purchased at the same cost. I better ball in terms of performance and cost is the Ram Tour Titanium Distance. At this stage in my golfing development, 2 years, flight, distance, landing on the green etc etc on most ball are pretty much the same.
