Purchase: I saw The BeForePlay Instant Warm Up at the PGA Show. It looked so strange that at first I didn't think it was something I wanted to try. But I'm glad I did. The guy demonstrating it was really good. He told me what it would do and why it would do it. He said he wasn't going to try to convince me of anything, he'd let me see for myself whether or not it worked. He showed me what to do, and then let me just mess around with it until I got my own swing going. I only stayed on it about one minute. Then I took a regular club and swung it. I couldn't believe the extra club head speed I had after only one minute. I've got to say it is not a cheap item. It is $2,900.00, but I think it is worth it.
Pros: It allows me to use my own golf grip and my own swing. I get to find my own swing plane and get to practice using any club length, even a putter, because the handle on the swing arm adjusts to where ever I want it. I can set the resistance how ever hard or light I want it. I can set it harder to strengthen my back swing, or harder on my follow through. Or I can make it even on both sides. It works my arms, shoulders, lats, back, abs and even my obliques. I don't get sore, and I can play golf right after using it. In fact, I use it as a warm up right before I go out. I also use it as a workout. I get my heart rate up in about one minute, and I can't stay on it yet for over five minutes, but I'm working at staying on longer. It has helped my flexibility. I can coil and uncoil a lot easier and I have more power in my swing. I like the way I can add resistance, because it helps me create even more power and club head speed. I also like it because even women and kids can use it. It's like a whole golf workout in one machine.
Cons: I wish it wasn't $2,900, but like I said, I think it is worth it. It is something that I can keep for years, and never get tired of. It's so easy to use, and I know how much better my swing is after just a few weeks, that I don't know why I would ever quit.
It takes up a lot of room, about the same amount as a multiple station weight machine. If a person doesn't have a lot of space, that could be a problem, except that it is made to stay out doors, so you could put it in the yard or on the patio.
Quality: It looks rather monstrous, but it is built very well. Even though it is big, it is light weight aluminum, and has wheels to make it easier to move around, either inside or outside. It is made to withstand commercial use, like out on a driving range, so will last even longer for home use.
Review Summary: The bottom line is that I think this is the kind of equipment that will make golfers better. It isn't a golf club or a golf ball with the latest greatest technology. It's a machine that helps train your body to play better golf. I am more excited about this piece of equipment than I have been about anything else I've ever bought to help my game.
