Details: Tour Edge Exotics Driver, Regular flex YS shaft, 12 degrees
Purchase: eBay, under $150 new for $500 driver Pros: I have played a number of Tour Edge products, loved them, and couldn't resist grabbing an Exotics driver off of eBay recently, 12 degree, YS regular flex shaft as I have a modest swing speed. I usually buy 10.5, but thought a little more loft probably wouldn't hurt me. A typical drive for me is about 230, some good ones 250. It was about 38 degrees outside (not great weather for long distance), and I hit two balls off the tee on the first hole, both effortless high draws with no warmup. Felt good. REALLY good. I walked down the fairway to see where my ball was. I couldn't see it. I kept looking. I found them both at 285, dead center. Please don't wake me up from this dream ....... Cons: Ummm, that I have played the past 7 years without it ... Quality: VERY high quality. Better than many of the well-known names. Review Summary: Clubs are a personal thing, of course, but this driver is the first one I have ever used that RADICALLY outshines anything else I have played with ... I have about 15 drivers, and nothing else can touch it.

Details: 10.5 degree loft, with Aldila Exotics NV-65 stiff shaft
Purchase: Purchased the driver from The Pro Shop in Johannesburg after having used the Tour Edge Exotics 4 wood for 4 months for teeing off. Paid the equivalent of $380. I first tried the the 55 gram Fujikura stiff shaft for 2 weeks which was great but sometimes inconsistent in direciton. I've just changed to the Aldila Exotics NV-65 stiff shaft and have gained an extra 20 - 30 yards and better consistency from my 115mph club head speed. Pros: I love the design philosophy of the Company which was apparent on the 4 wood which I quite easily drove 270 yards at high altitude. I sometimes wonder if their drivers and woods comply with regulations as its almost too good to be true. Cons: The head cover identification numbering system is pitiful on all their woods and drivers - otherwise nothing. Quality: As far as golf clubs are concerned I think their woods and drivers are beautiful in looks and construction. Review Summary: The high end Tour Edge products are terribly under rated and buck for buck are equal, if not better than most competing products. I believe the balance design of their product enhances your swing path so much so that my swing has improved by at least 20% over the past 4 months. Details: 10.5 loft, 45' Fujikura R flex midkick shaft
Purchase: Purchased at Edwin Watts. Traded a Cleveland Hi-Bore 10.5 loft driver with Aldila NVS R flex shaft. Pros: Story: current driver is Cleveland Launcher 460cc 10.5 loft with GrafAlloy Pro Launch Blue shaft. Hit a high soft draw about 255 - 260 yards consistently.
Son-in-law uses his Ping G2 to blow by me about 30 yards so set off in search of more distance.
Bought Cleveland Hi-Bore with Aldila R flex shaft after testing Hi-Bore on range with Fujikura R flex shaft. With the Aldila NVS 65 R flex shaft, all I could do was hit short weak fades no matter how I adjusted my swing mechanics. Never used the Hi-Bore on the course because the results were so unsatisfactory on the range.
Traded the Hi-Bore for the Tour Edge Exotics driver. Unbelievable results. Ball trajectory is mid-flight (perfect in my book). Ball starts rising at impact and just keeps rising slowly until ball is well down range. Conservatively estimate I have gained about 20 to 25 yards. Ball flight is just the barest hint of a draw. Club face aligns well at address; very confidence building when setting up to ball. Have found that club is not critical of tiny setup inconsistencies (unlike a LOT of drivers). Cons: Haven't found anything to dislike yet. Quality: Premium materials and craftsmanship on a premium product. Review Summary: Count me among the Tour Edge Exotics metal wood fans. I've just ordered the set of fairway woods. On 2006-06-24, scratchy rated this Tour Edge Exotics a 5...(7175)
Details: 8 degree, X-Stiff NV65, 460cc
Purchase: I purchased a Bazooka first, cracked the face weld (swing speed 115 ). Spoke with golfmart rep and upgraded to the midline model lender while waiting for the appropriate loft to be shipped. Unfortunately I ran into some shipping problems and never recieved the club. Then my bag was stolen. Golfmart worked with TE and sold me the Exotics for 200$, pretty cool. Pros: Upgraded to Exotics Driver 8degree, NV65 Xstiff. WOW, this is awesome. Drives average 300+, best at 350!! At a recent demo day I hit all of the name brands and nothing compared. By far the best driver i've struck. Golfmart Albuquerque had wonderful customer service and the 30 day money back on TE products is really great also. Cons: Nothing, even if I had payed full price it would have been worth it. Quality: Exotics perfect. The lower end tour edge models are not for high swing speeds, the face welds will crack over time. Review Summary: Awesome club, well worth the money. That is if you want a straight 340 yard drive and company that will help you every step of the way.
