On 2005-08-18, Frank Novio rated this True Touch Lead Tape a 5...(6074)

Purchase: After reading several articles and a Golf Digest published study on the effectiveness of weighted drivers helping to counter swing deficiencies , I read an advertisement that claimed the same attributes were available through lead tape. Their product was novel in it supplies the weight in a concentrated ball that affixes to the outside of your club, depending on where you need the aid. I paid approximately $6 for a 20 gram 'swing' weight and $10 for a pack of several weights and shapes through their internet site of truetouchgolf.com
Pros: The weights are easy to apply to your clubs, but the best effect is in the swing adjustment, itself. After placing a 20 gram weight to the top, back, heel of my driver; I immediately experienced a drastic reduction in my slice! After one day on the range, I went from hitting 50% of my drives out of bounds, to hitting only a couple to the right out of a whole bucket! I played a round on Monday and only hit one slice! Beyond that, I used my fairway woods and hit them as straight as my irons.
Cons: The only difficulty I am having is with a 4 gram weight placed on the sole of my 2-iron (inside the cavity). For some reason, it keeps coming off.
Quality: The weights are molded in smooth bubble shapes and are available in black and silver, so as to blend in and obscure visibility of the club additions.

Review Summary: Comparing the desired effect of this item with the cost of weighted drivers, it is a real no brainer to try this as a low cost alternative! Even if you experience some difficulty with the adhesion and placement of the weights, the cost savings alone is worth several experiments. $10-$15 vs. $400 is an easy decision and one that I didn't regret.
