On 2004-03-12, Scott - Tucson, AZ rated this Warrior Custom Golf Wedge Set - GW, SW, LW a 4...(3075)

Purchase: Warrior Custom Golf offers this three wedge set for "free", or if you'd prefer, for a $29.95 shipping and handling charge. I received a mailer with this offer, and I went to the web site and ordered. The clubs came within a week.
Pros: The wedges took some getting used to, since I didn't already have any wedges, and my irons have graphite shafts. The look and feel of the clubs is nice - stepless steel shafts and large heads provide a "heavyness" that translates to a greater feel and better control. After playing a few rounds, my favorite club is the lob wedge. The wedges have a lot of bounce, but the lob wedge, for me, is the easiest to hit. I can almost always achieve a nice, high trajectory shot that lands soft.
Cons: The gap wedge and the sand wedge, on the other hand, have been harder to hit for me. The amount of bounce makes any shot from a hard surface very difficult. I only use these two clubs from sand or from fluffy lies. That said, I will concur with other reviewers who mentioned the company, Warrior Custom Golf. I have been bombarded with telemarketing calls. I can get them off the phone quickly, but they are annoying nonetheless.
Quality: Construction and quality seem to be very solid. The grip is a bit rubbery, which is okay for me. The steel shafts feel solid and heavy, and the clubs overall feel good to swing.

Review Summary: Nice wedge set at a great price. If you can deal with telemarketing calls, I would recommend this set. Out of the three wedges, however, the Lob wedge is the most valuable for me personally. Fifty yards out from the green, every time, from almost any lie, I pull this club and get the ball on the green. Easy to control and heavy, solid feel.
