Purchase: -Picked them up at Wal-Mart for $19.97 a dozen. I was looking for a different ball to use. After reading an article in Golf Magazine about the different ball types, I decided to give them a shot. I've been playing Pinnacle Exception's, Titleist SoLo's, Nike Mojo's, and TopFlite Infinity Absolutely Straight's. I really liked the Exception and the SoLo the best out of those four. But I'm still searching for MY favorite. I 'might' have just found it. But a little while longer and I'll know for sure.
Pros: -It seems to be a very soft ball. When I hit it, it doesn't jar my hands like hitting a rock. It has decent spin for around the greens. I read another review that it doesn't. But if I can hit the green from 50-70 yards out and watch it stop dead in it's tracks or bounce once or twice and stop, then it works for me just fine. Sure it's no Pro V-1, but I just golf on our store team and I'm definitely not good enough to justify spending the $$ on the Pro V-1. Sorry, but I see people at the course worse than me buying the Pro V's, and slicing them into the woods on their first tee. Bye-bye! Now they're out some cash just because they think a ball that's $40-$50 a dozen is going to help them more than a few lessons would. Also as the name applies, it's pretty long too. On par with the Exception, which is another excellent ball.
Cons: -The only thing I don't like about this ball is the durability of the cover. I nailed a tree that I was behind with a hard and heavy 3 iron. It left a pretty decent scar on the ball. But it's a catch 22. If the cover was harder and more durable, would the ball feel and play as good as it does now? At $20 a dozen I think I can live with a few scuffed ones. But then again I played another round and all they showed were the typical grass and dirt stains that came off in the ball washer at the next tee.
Quality: It's a top quality ball from a company that should have a little more recognition. The covers are a bright white. No discoloration anywhere. It says that they're "true balanced." I haven't noticed any difference between this and others. But it's nice to know that a company is willing to go through the extra steps to ensure that.

Review Summary: Pick up a box the next time you're at the store. You might have just found your new ball. That's if you're willing to forgo the "elitely named" balls long enough to really give them a try. But some people just can't seem to "be different" enough and try something that their golf buddies wouldn't approve of.

Purchase: My buddy and I were out playing a round. He won a box of them in a tournament and gave me a sleeve of them. Glad they were free!
Pros: I like the IDEA of a balanced golf ball. Sounds good in THEORY. But truth be told, I've never had a ball wobble off line from being out of round when I'm putting. It's a bad stroke or poor green conditions. The price is competitive with similar balls (Noodle, Titleist SoLo, Precept Laddie, etc...) Soft feel like the rest of 'em... Distance on par with the rest too.
Cons: Not much to speak of as far as spin into the greens goes. If you are expecting great all around performance from your ball, this is not the one for you. Fairly hard cover doesn't generate any bite into the greens.
Quality: Nothing much to complain about. The price point of balls is starting to come down finally (a refelcetion of the economy?) Seems to get into a ball with some bite around the greens (NXT Tour, Precept U-Tri extra spin) you need to pay about $25/a box. What a difference $6 more can make!

Review Summary: Spend that extra $6.00 and buy those mid-priced performance balls! The Wilson Staff True Velocity will provide you with many rounds with good length and a durable cover, but if you've taken your game to the next level where you're trying to get into the seventies, this ball will let you down when your perfect approach shot fails to stop dead on the green. I think this is "TRUELY" just a marketing gimmick!
