On 2004-08-01, Big Red rated this Wilson Deep Red 305cc a 5...(3968)

Purchase: After golfing for about 10 years with an old set of Knight clubs, I figured its time to look for some new ones. First I wanted to get a good driver. I usually hit a 230-250 yards drive but most of the time it was to the left or right. So I wanted to get a driver that was forgiving and gave some extra distance. After reading many reviews I decided to get the Wilson Deep Red and got it for a low 100$ for golfdicounts.com
Pros: The look of this club alone is something to behold, especially when its in the sunlight. I dunno what it is abou the Fat Shaft, but what ever it is it works. I am now crushing drives easily 300 yards, and the most important part, there down the middle!
Cons: It did take awhile to get used to the club, but once I went to the course and range about 10 times, it got the job done.
Quality: As long as you put the cover back on, doesn't seem to wear at all. The red paint is not chipped at all. However the face does get the imprint of the ball on it.

Review Summary: If your looking to buy a club that will improve your drive, then this is the one for you. It is obtainable at low prices too.

Purchase: After years of accepting a high handicap for the thrill of hitting occasional, even frequent long drives, I decided that making fairways was more important. I did my homework on this and other club review sites and liked what I read about the Wilson Deep Red Fat Shaft 305cc Driver. I bought one on Ebay, for about $300 including overseas shipping.
Pros: I could never get used to standing over any of the enormous drivers so the "smaller" 305cc really appealed to me. The Deep Red is easy to line up, looks beautiful and to call it "forgiving" is an understatement. I still marvel when I see blue, red, white, and black tee tracks all across the bottom of the driver and realize I kept every drive in play. For the first few months, I raved about its accuracy but conceded that I'd lost ten or fifteen yards from my average drive with the Callaway C4. Now, after a year I have new "career best/longest" drives on every hole on the three courses I regularly play.
Cons: Why doesn't Wilson swallow their pride and call this club "Big Red" like everybody else does.
Quality: I've played over 100 rounds with this club and it still looks and feels brand new. I swing hard, so I’ve always been a little worried about Wilson’s so called “technological breakthrough” in the shaft to sole connection, but this driver has already outlasted three different Callaway models.

Review Summary: In my opinion, this club, along with the fat shaft idea returns Wilson to the front of pack with drivers, just like they were with the Staff irons for so many years. I'm sold on it, and have just finished my second round with my new set of Deep Red Fat Shaft Irons and WOW are they nice!
