Purchase: Bought this after trying a friends during a practice round. Had a Titleist 975D and wasn't getting a nice feel off the clubface. After buying with my club pro at a decent price £150 GBpounds took it to the local range to try out.
Pros: What can I say, what a sound off the clubface. I'm not a big hitter but I got a lot more distance with this club. It has a nice feel grip is adequate and can be changed for a better one but the finish is excellent and the red gives it a bit of class
Cons: The headcover could be bigger can't see it lasting long with extended use. other dislikes.......so far none. I'm due to try it out in anger tomorrow so it will be interseting with a proper ball not a range ball
Quality: The fat shaft is nice with a regular flex and I picked the 10.5 loft. The 9.5 I had was ok but the more I read the more I was cionvinced I needed the 10.5. Finish is excellent as you would expect from a big name like Wilson
Review Summary: First impressions.....nobody is touching this. I'm not a person that is impressed by names as it's not the club that makes you a good golfer it's talent, the clubs just help you show off that talent. In this case I'll make an exception as I've never had a club I've hit as well straight out of the bag. I will keep you informed if the love affair is still as strong in 6 months time

Purchase: Purchased this from a golf "superstore" for $299. When I walked into the store, my intention was to evaluate the Calloway, Nike, and Taylor Made 500. Salesman didn't seem to favor the Nike at all. After htting a few with each club, the salesman suggested I try the Wilson Deep Red. I don't know if it was something he saw in my swing, or what, but I'm sure glad he recommended I try the Wilson.
Pros: Very well balanced and easy to swing. From the very first swing in the store, I knew this was the driver for me. It replaced the Taylor Made Ti Bubble 2 in my bag. From the top, the head does not look particulary oversized. To me, the club head face feels considerably "hotter" than the Calloway or Taylor Made, yielding about 10-20 yards more distance, even though the COR is supposedly lower. Also, very forgiving on mis-hits. I preferred the Deep Red to the Calloway ERC and Big Bertha, Nike, and the Taylor Made 500.
Cons: Wilson should have made the head cover a bit larger. It is a struggle to put the head cover on.
Quality: Excellent. Still looks like new after a few sessions at the practice range and a few rounds. Usually, there are some residual marks or scratches on the face or elsewhere on the head, but the Wilson Deep Red still looks like new.
Review Summary: If you're looking for a new driver, you have to try the Wilson Deep Red.
