On 2003-07-12, Rick Holaus rated this Wilson Deep Red II Tour a 5...(1774)

Purchase: Wilson dealer for under $400.
Pros: I can't say enough good things about this set of irons! The club feels extremely well balanced when you first swing it, which I think is very important in feeling comfortable with your clubs. The lie is nothing short of fully inspiring, with it's thin, straight topline and blade-sized head. But don't let the smaller head size fool you, this club has a lot of juice in it, and seems quite forgiving. What impressed me about the club was that even without any real offset to speak of and only a small cavity with a large muscle behind it, the ball flies straight as an arrow with a normal swing and doesn't have any tendencies to push right or turn into a fade, which has been my ongoing problem with long irons, until now. The ball will fly exactly the way you strike it, and if you're fairly consistent with your swing, you'll be very impressed with this club. And the looks? There isn't a better looking iron out there!
Cons: Nothing! It's perfect!
Quality: Top notch construction in this set.

Review Summary: I was looking at just about everything when I literally stumbled onto this iron: Cleveland, Callaway, Titleist, TaylorMade, you name it. I was about to decide between the Titleist 762 and the TaylorMade RAC LT's when I saw a demo 6-iron of the Tour II's. After just four hits with it I was sold. I knew I was going to be hitting a club that wasn't a compromise in any way and that would give me all the confidence I need when approaching the ball on the course and prepare to hit another shot onto the green for a short putt.
