On 2003-08-03, Jon S rated this Wilson Deep Red Irons a 5...(1962)

Purchase: I paid $150.00 at a golf course Pro Shop. I knew these were expensive irons and I fiqured if I didn't like them I could give/sell to someone else.
Pros: These irons are long. I checked the specs and found that the lofts are stronger than normal. They have a really nice feel when you strike the ball on the sweetspot and are extremely forgiving on mishits. I bought these clubs because of the low amount I paid. I figured I would try them out and if I did not like them either trade or give/sell them to someone else. They are in my bag now to stay, despite there drawbacks.
Cons: I did not like the weight of these irons. I started leaving shots right when I would take too much of a divot. It felt that the light weight of the head affected the clubs ability to get through the turf and rough. Therefore I added lead tape to the heads which after one round I believed helped. One other problem is that because the lofts are so strong the PW goes about 130 which leaves a gap between this club and my 54 degree sandwedge. I hate to add another club to my bag but the long irons are so easy to hit.
Quality: These irons are well constructed and came with quality Golf Pride grips.

Review Summary: These irons were an absolute steal for the price I paid. They are strong and very forgiving. I would recommend that any golfer at least try them out.
