On 2003-05-27, Marco rated this Wilson Fat Shaft Irons a 5...(1414)

Purchase: I was looking for a new set of irons, when one of my friends told me that he new a guy that owned a Golf USA store in Laval,QC. After much testing and discussions the owner suggested that I try the Fat Shaft Irons. Lets just say that I never looked back!!!! They cost me 849$ but worth every penny!!!
Pros: Where do I start. How long they are, How the make your mishits into pretty good ones. How solid they feel.
Cons: With the exception of those Rings that connect the Head and Shaft together being alittle fragile. Everything is perfect
Quality: A-1 (nothing more to say)

Review Summary: Plan and simple you have the confidence in your swing to challenger whatever the course throws at you.

On 2002-03-25, Roger Davis rated this Wilson Fat Shaft Irons a 3...(22)

Purchase: Paid $400 online at golfgods.com about a month ago. Needed something forgiving to help get me into the 80s!
Pros: The thin face really seems to help with less than perfect contact. I also like the low center of gravity which helps get me up in the air where previously I'd have problems once in a while.
Cons: I find these irons to be a little more rigid than I'm used to which has forced me to work on my speed and come through with a little more control. Of course they do have a more flexible shaft available so if you're in the same boat check those models out.
Quality: Very good quality from a reputable brand. Construction is first rate. Very solid and well built.

Review Summary: Like most equipment, the cost of the clubs doesn't necessarily have a directly proportional positive impact on your game. I think the set is probably a little over priced, but certainly is good quality and has saved me a few strokes in the past few rounds. I'm not one to overrate something, though, so I'm giving them a 3.
