On 2004-02-29, Pete Vegas rated this Wilson Fat Shaft Tour Cast Irons a 5...(2970)

Purchase: I bought these online @ edwinwatts.com about 5 years ago. Probably paid about $400 for the 3-PW. I also bought GW,SW, and LW.
Pros: In the last five years I have gone from a 12 to a 4.5 handicap, and I know for a fact these clubs have been a big reason for that. They are super EZ to hit and go high, straight and far. The tour cast has a thinner top line and is not as 'bulky' as the original Fat Shafts or say like a Big Bertha series of irons. Yet, they are awesome. I have not switched, and don't plan to. If you are looking for clubs try these out. You will love them!! I don't think you can find them new anymore, try EBAY, I'm sure you can get a smokin deal on some Fat Shaft Tour Casts!!
Cons: nothing at all!! if you can deal with the heckling from your buddies because you are hitting 'Fat Shafts', then by all means, get these clubs! You will be collecting at the 19th hole, I promise you that!!
Quality: Very durable. Still have original grips after 5 years, and I play at least 2 rounds a week. Awesome, low maintenance set or irons!!

Review Summary: If you are looking for equipment to lower your handicap, these irons can do it. Very easy to hit, yet powerful, high, and striaght. I very under rated set of irons that no one has heard of. Easier to hit than any Callaways, Pings, and most certainly Mizunos. Don't play a low handicappers iron because they look good, play a club that will lower your scores and give you confidence!!
