Hi gang. This forum was recently hacked by "phishers". No, not Don , but rather some unscrupulous individuals. My web host forced me to upgrade it or they were going to shut it down. Sorry for any inconvenience, this hit out of nowhere and I had to address it immediately.

Please send me a private message if you are seeing strange things. Missing things. Features you may have had before but no longer do, etc. I'm not sure what functionality this upgraded board has, as I'm still learning myself, but I'll try and respond to everyone's questions.

Please be patient though. As some of you know, I've been travelling internationally a lot for my day gig so I've had little time to participate in the forums and for general site work.

Hopefully, though, you will see me around here more in the coming months as I will be tweaking and making changes to the site for the coming season.

I have noticed in the past that links to picture hosting services didn't seem to work. I've tried to upload an avatar recently on the new board and am having no luck. Are these features turned off right now Chris? It would be fun to have people post some pictures.

The avatars appear to be turned on from what I can see in the control panel. And I am seeing some avatars from others.

Are you trying to use a link to an avatar or upload one from your local drive?

I was trying to upload one. I'll try it again.

Nope, no luck. It won't allow me to even use a stock avitar now. Maybe I am retarded (OK, we know that answer already) and I am not doing it right. Just click the radio dial, choose the path to the picture (I checked the resolution and it is set to 79x76 pixels) and hit the "submit" button at the bottom, right? It tells me my settings have been saved, but no avitar.

Hey, Chris, any way to set the text to not "center" itself in the box, it's harder to read.

Chris, the first thing I noticed with the new format, is that there is no direct link to the forum section now. The only way I can get to the forum section, is to open a review, and then I see a link off to the left, were is was before. As for Avators, on my computer, I only get a few photos coming in, mine, yours, I think that's about it. Some of the other members, Mike is one, have a box with a red mark in it, which is what I get when I open a website site, and no photos download, just an empty box. But it was that way before the upgrade, so nothng new there. I hope that helps solve the problem Mike is having. All the new word processing tools are great and will be quite usefull, thanks for the upgrade.

Ok, let me check some settings and see what I see... the link to the forums is at the bottom of the main golf gear review page, by the way... I'm going to promote the forums more with links, etc. but just haven't decided how yet..

Aimee, can you be a little more specific as to where you are seeing text "centering" itself in the box? Is this on the regular site or in the forums somewhere?

Chris, if you look at your posts here, you will see that the text is centered, not aligned to the left side of the screen, as is more common. I notice it too, but I don't really care how it is aligned, as long as it's readable.

Chris, if you don't sign your name on a post and if I look at your profile to find your first name, I can't find it. I realize if you don't add it, it won't be there. But, if you do add it, where would it be?

Also, for some reason, Google gave me the shaft recently and the traffic dipped way down after the new year. It might be a little quiet in here in case you notice. Apparently a bunch of webmasters over on webmasterworld.com have noticed also. Unfortunate, but we will weather the storm. Just hope things recover in time for spring..

Hmmm... I have heard of this happening before with Google. They "re-align" their search results somehow, and everyone has to play the game again to try to get their site near the top of the search. Using the words "Golf Review" that used to put us in at the #2 result returned. Now we are no where to be found. If I use "Golf Equipment Review" to search, we are like #4 now.

Not sure how they determine their search results, but I know there is a way to play the game. My buddy's nephew was a webmaster and I guess was very good at getting his sites at the top of searches. Wish I knew more about it.
