Latest Feature For Tim Finchem, the TW questions never seem to end - Poor Tim Finchem.
The commissioner of the to-this-point-Tigerless PGA Tour headlined a teleconference Monday afternoon, a very happy one, actually, to announce that Farmers Insurance had sign...

Hi Trip, I went to their website but it doesn't say what the SpeedStix is. I can see that it's a stick you swing, but that's about it. I assume that it is a weighted stick that helps build your swing muscles and increase flexability. And it has a built in speed gauge. Does that sound about right to you? If that is correct, it sounds like the swing trainer that I built from a 39 inch piece of 5/8 inch brass rod, that I added a training grip to. My brass rod weights about 3-3/4 pounds and is good to build my swing muscles and forces me to tranfer my weight to the right on the back swing and to the left on the downswing. I use it to loosen up before I practice or play a round and it makes my golf clubs feel really light. Swinging a nine iron is like swinging a shaft with no head, it's that much lighter than the brass rod. If you want, you can build one from a piece of 5/8 inch steel rod with a grip from someone like Golfsmith for a spare to the SpeedStix that you have. I made mine from brass as brass weighs a little more than steel and I wanted as much weight as I could get. 5/8th inch steel or brass rods, 36 inches long are available from a machine shop or the people they get their supplies from. Steel is a lot cheaper and should cost less than $15.00. How is the Plus 10 driver working out for you? Have you decided if you like it better than the 460 Launcher you demod? Keep them in the short grass and have fun.

Hi TRip, glad to hear your swing speed is up so much, that can't hurt. I can't afford the Golf Channel, I'd have to pay for cable and then all the gadgets they sell on the Golf channel on top of that. I'm still tempted to invest in a Swing Jacket to see if it really work to groove the swing. ANY ONE OUT THERE USE ONE??? Saw it on the Golf Channel at a friends house and have been interested in one ever since. Kind of a dumb informercial but it still looks like it might work. Good luck with your stix. Don

I too have been using the Speed Sticks with good results. I bought both the red and blue sticks so that I could do the overload underload drill that they recommend at www.golfstuffonline.com/speed-stik That is a great site with much info on the sticks. I have added ten mph to my speed accross the board with all my clubs which makes this great game a whole lot easier! Mike

Hi JW; Thanks for the info on the swing jacket, I appreciate the time and effort put in. 50% return rate doesn't sound promising, but with only two sales, that's not a real good sample. Thanks again, Don.
