I don't buy used golf balls, not when I can get new logo overruns for $15 a dozen. Got 3 dozen TaylorMade TP tour balls a few weeks ago at Golfsmith for $45. The TP Black and Reds were tested to be the longest ball you can get.

I bought some of those Taylormades from Golfsmith too. I also bought the Callaway HX hot tours from an over run bin for about $18/doz. I had never bought any remanufactured balls before, I just thought I would give it a shot. I bought some Titleist balls from a nother bin, figured hey they are Titleist, must be pretty good. The GranZ was a little better than TopFlites, relatively soft until you got to the green, would not stop for anything. I gave the remainders of the bunch away to my boss, who loses a way lot of balls.
In 9-10 rounds this year I have lost something along the lines of 2 dozen balls. I have consistently tried to play the same ball (type) throughout a round and I used up all the e6s and black labels I had bought. I plan on trying the TPs or HXs this weekend.

Scott, I got those same TPs at Golfsmith from a bin at the front of the store. They are long gone here locally. Recently they had Callaway HX Hots and Pinnacle Golds. I bought some HXs.

Chief, Stay away from re-manufactured golf balls, as they can be real junk. There's a big difference between USED balls and re-manufactured balls. Also. I've never heard of a HX Hot Tour. They make the HX hot, and the HOt Bite, but not a HX Hot Tour.

Don, you are exactly right. The balls were last years Callaway HX Hots, with the orange Callaway 'v' on the face. I bought a dozen for about $18 from the over-run bin. I did not use them yet, I am still playing the Slazenger Black Labels I got a couple months ago.

A local golf store in town is closing up shop...I guess they found it hard to compete against a Golf Galaxy superstore..anyway, everythings discounted...bags 20%, shoes 20%, clothes 30%, clubs...only 10% as of Sat but that should lower soon too. Anyway, if anyone is looking for anything specific, let me know. If I see it I'll let you know the price.

I picked up an Ogio bag (http://www.golfsmith.com/ps/ppage.php?stynum=290166&seg2=BLK/ORN&seg3=&seg4=&seg5= ) which I got for about $90. Also picked up some of the Bridgestone B330 golf balls for $32/dozen. I've been wanting to try those so I figured I'd give them a shot.

I'll let you know what I think.

Scott, silly request...Nike Dri-fit socks (men's) or good FootJoy socks? Did they have any of those?

Aimee, so they had a few pair of the Nie DriFit socks for $5.99 a pair and I'd assume those would be either 20 or 30% off that price They also had some of the Footjoy, the nicer ones at $7.99 a pair and then the discount.

FYI, those of you that are Golf Galaxy visitors, they have a series of coupons for $10 off a $50 purchase, up to $50 off a $250 purchase. So if anyone is planning to buy something there in the next 2 days, email me and I'll send you the coupons. I'm going to go see if they carry the GPS I want in the store, they do not have it online. Otherwise, maybe I'll buy some ProV's or that 5W I've been thinking about.

Scott, I noticed you're looking for a 5W. I just happen to have 19* 5W that I'm looking to move. I just picked up a 18* head to go with my 15* 3W and 21* 7W. so the 19* 5W is coming out of my bag. You might want to read my review on this head here on the site before you answer. IF you're looking for a good 5W for off the deck, than this is a very good head. If you're looking move for a wood off a tee, then not so good. It's very long off the deck or if you tee the ball rather low. Tee it too high and you'll lose some 25-30 yards. If you'd be interested in it. I could install just about any shaft you'd want. Make you a good deal if you're interested.

Thanks Don. I was able to work a good deal at Golf Galaxy today to get the new Cobra 5W for under $50 so I jumped on it. Hopefully it'll work as well as the driver and 3w do for me now.

$50 for a Cobra 5W is a deal hard to pass up. I paid more than that for my shaft in each of my woods. I hope you like it. Let me know what you think of it after you get the chance to play with it a bit.
