I got some new wedges this weekend and played a 9 hole par 3. I had a question, maybe someone, probably Bill can answer. On a 111 yard hole I hit my new 52* wedge it seemed about as high as I hit for distance. The ball totally plugged about 2 1/2 feet from the cup. I marked the ball a club head back and fixed the divot and replaced the ball as I would normally. Knocked down the putt for a birdie. Is this acceptable?

as I recall the rules, an embeeded ball through the green (which includes the green) can be lifted, cleaned and placed and the area can be repaired. So I think you did the right thing.
