So looking for ideas for a cheap mancation with decent golf in Western PA, Eastern OH, or Wheeling/Wierton WVA area. Should include at least one night accomodations, and activities in the area after the sun goes down.

I ran some tournaments at Speidel Golf Course, Oglebay Park, in Wheeling, W.V. There are 36 or 54 holes and as I remember, they are good, fun, great value for the money courses.

Chris, i bet wherever we stay, we can probably get a ride from the hotel and have them pick us up. At least in the Oglebay/Wheeling Island area.

If we go to Hunter's Station, we will have to do the driving, but I know the area and we may only need to go somewhere, maybe for dinner or to drive around the area. It is extremely scenic.

I couldn't find any golf packages for Mountaineer and I will ask my Dad about the weekend he does for his golf league in Somerset. Oh, and the cheapest looks to be midweek packages.

Yeah, midweek would be fine except we'd have to burn days off from work, which has it's own cost to it. Ok, let me look at those links..

Well, for me, burning vacation days is nothing, i still have 9.5 days that i have to use before June 1.

It looked like weekend rates were for Fri-Sat and weekday were Sun-Thurs.

Laney, there is a lot of food chewing...especially some type of beef/chicken/venison off of the grill. Oh, and there are never vegetables involved, unless you consider jalapenos as a vegetable.
