Is it "Top Posters" of all time or the last 30 days?

I get it, it is the overall top posters list because that shows people who participate regularly.
Although I know there's a couple of names on there of people who no longer visit. Memory lane...

flomarilius - kid in Miami who thought he was Tiger Woods. Until someone saw his swing video and called him out. BTW, he used to go on another forum and they banned him. He just imploded.

I think when Chris posted this he was talking about the Top Posters of the last 30 days as when he posted this, the All Time Top Posters was still on the right side.

One comment. It's not easy to come up with a NEW course review this time of year, especially for some of us that have posted a review in the past for every course we play in our area. Would it be okay to post 3 equipment reviews rather than 1 of each? I'd rather do that than post a repeat review on a course I reviewed in the past.

OK, here are my responses..

Those who are on the Top Posters list for the last 30 days are eligible. This keeps those who have contributed recently in the pool. We're not going to have folks winning prizes that haven't been around for 5 years.

Second, I'm sticking with the one short course review and one equipment review rule. This keeps it fair, and one of each per month, in my opinion should not be that difficult, especially considering we are approaching golf season.

I will add... that if you can provide a significantly different review of the same piece of equipment, or course, that you have in the past, that I will accept these. Many times, when playing a club or ball, you experience something different about it that you didn't the first time that might be of benefit to a reader. You may also think of additional points that you didn't include in your original review that make sense to include in a second one after trying the equipment "over time".

This is true also for golf courses. You may play one time and find that the front was more challenging than the back. You may play another time, and find that playing from the pro tees totally changed the character of the course. I am flexible and open minded and if you can provide a different view of the same equipment or course, then I will accept a different review.

I will be watching for abuse, but I know that the majority of folks in here are upstanding individuals and for the most part, there will be nothing to worry about. Remember everyone, we are here to provide opinions and view points on equipment, clubs, courses, etc. to help people make decisions on whether they should purchase, play, or visit. As long as the information isn't duplicative and is valuable, it's good in my opinion.

As I also mentioned, I'm also looking at increasing the value of the giveaway as traffic increases and things start rolling again so hopefully those who are interested in winning will find it's a fair trade-off between time vested and potential return.

Totally agree, Chris. There's not a lot of sites that give you such a fair opportunity to win a significant prize. Da Rules is Da Rules!

I have put in my reviews for courses and gear.

Chris, how will you select the winner? If there's 8 people that qualify (meaning they made their reviews and are part of the Top 30), are my chances 1 in 8 or if someone does 2 reviews for each courses and gear, does that make my chances 1 in 9?

Just wondering if making more reviews helps my chances any or if its just based off the number of people that qualify and you'll just pick one person from that list.

That's a great question and I guess I have about a week to figure it out.

I don't want to disincent folks from submitting multiple reviews (because that is soooo helpful), so I will probably just run a query of reviews of courses and equipment from the forum folks (check out the new stats I put together partway down the left side here) and lump them into a list with a unique ID and then pick one. So.... entering more definitely gives you an edge.

I'm going to try and code an easy way to do this..

I also need to note that Scott and Don's course review submissions appear inflated due to the fact that I've been copying from the old course review format to post into the new format. For everyone else in the running this month, please rest assured these entries that were submitted some time ago won't be included when I draw the number of the winner. (Sorry Don and Scott, haha..)

Hey, to spice things up guys, if you get the total review count (right now it's at 41+13=54) up to 100 or more, I'll increase the gift card to $100. Now that's a lot of work for individuals, but there are a lot of folks who aren't participating right now, so there's some opportunity out there on that Top 30 list...

So we're up to 63 reviews already! What a jump for one day! So how many of you out there haven't joined in that are on the Top 30 list? Even if you're not interested in the giftcard and have all the golf equipment and money you could ever want, it's Ok to share your opinions of equipment or courses... you could help someone else on the team win a BIGGER gift card!
