Does anyone have any experience with these Pinehurst area resorts, such as the Talamore I keep seeing advertising for?

I'm guessing there's some pretty good golf in the Sandhills area..

Chris,

My sister and brother in law live in Whispering Pines, which is just a few miles from the Village of Pinehurst and the Pinehurst Resort. I have played at the National Golf Club in Pinehurst, FANTASTIC course.

Your post is actually timely as my sister and BIL are coming home for Easter. I can talk to Ray about Talamore specifically, but I do know that there is some fantastic golf in the Sandhills area, I think there is a golf course on every road.

Cool... You should tell Ray to jump in on the next pool also... let us know what you find out.. I keep seeing Talamore everywhere, they are REALLY promoting it and some really good deals from what I can tell for golf vacations..

I will tell Ray, but I don't know how much he actually surf's the internet to pay attention to the site. Usually he uses it for work and soccer. Heck, I was shocked when my sister started a Facebook page.

I will definitely let him know though, and I will definitely talk to him about Talamore. With him working for the school district and coaching soccer he knows a lot of what's going on in the area. I can also do a little further follow-up investigation as I will be heading down there in 3 weeks for my niece and nephews First Communion. I don't know if we will get out and play any golf as our time down there is usually pretty well used up, but maybe...
And who knows what type of clubs i can play with as I will probably rent them as there won't be enough room in my Dad's car to pack both of our clubs as well as stuff we will be taking down.

Chris,

Talked to Ray this weekend. He said Talamore is a decent place. Which, to me, means that it is pretty nice.

He also said that if we want to do a little getaway, he knows some people that can get us discounts and we can play at his country club pretty cheap.
