Ok, so I've pulled the list of reviews. The total submitted by everyone (including non-forum members) was 103. Therefore I have decided to increase the value of the gift card to $100.


ALSO - To make things interesting, I say we let DocT pick the winner since he graciously did not participate this month. Doc, give me a number between 1 and 103.

I need to incorporate something for you guys that submit so many reviews. I'm having a feeling there are others that aren't submitting at all because they don't feel like they have a chance to win. Maybe we can work something out seperately. Please PM me if you have any ideas.

Chris, you had said you were going to factor out where old reviews from (I believe) Scott and Don were transferred over into the new format (or something like that) because it skewed the amount of reviews, it appears you still have all of them on that overall list?
Also, as a suggestion, most contests say you are not eligible in the month following a win. So that way you spread it around a bit.

Actually, that list was MUCH longer Aimee. I deleted a BUNCH of course reviews from DON and srushing but I will review again for accuracy. It's possible there were some I didn't notice.

I like the suggestion of not being able to win two months in a row. Will take that under consideration - it seems reasonable.

I think the last list looks right. All my old course reviews have been removed, so it looks correct as far as my reviews are concerned.

I really don't understand how ANYONE can have a problem with their chances of winning. If each review counts as ONE chance to win, everyone that submits a review has an equal chance to win the prize. Everyone can submit mulitple reviews on more course or equipment, to give themselves more chances to win. How is this unfair?
The same can be said for winnig back to back months. If anyone doesn't like it that say DotT wins two months in a row. All they have to do to prevent it is submit more reviews than DotT does, and they can win back to back months.

Bottom line is if a member submits just 2 reviews, his or her chance to win will be half that of a member that submits 4 reviews the same month. Isn't that the way it should work? The solution to their complaint is to just submit more reviews themselves, and maybe it will be them that wins all the time.

In April, Scott posted 7 reviews, so he has 7 chances of winning. I submitted 12 reviews. so I have 12 chances of winning. Aimee posted 4 reviews, so she has 4 chances of winning. Same thing for Klun (3)and Selftaughtman, (2). Isn't that the way it should be? Want more chances to win. SUBMIT MORE REVIEWS.

Well certainly:

a) Can't please everyone -and-
b) If it ain't broke don't fix it

But I'm always interested in:

c) Always look for a better way

So, while your points are noted, the goal here for the GREATER good is to get more people involved - so this is something we should still explore. Not that preventing an entrant from winning the month following the giveaway is the answer, but it's certainly an option. I'd like to hear more feedback on how to get more people involved.

Well, I guess it depends on what's fair. If you want everyone to have the same chances, then you do a one-per-player deal. But that dis-incentivizes anyone from filling out more than one review, which helps the site. So I hate to say it but I think the way you're doing it is the fairest. Does that give those that submit more better odds, to a degree yes. They may have 3 chances in 17 as opposed to someone who has 1 chance. Maybe you could limit it to no more than 3 chances, even if you submitted 10 reviews.

Congradulations Klun. Here's a perfect example of how a person with only 3 reviews can still win out over someone that had 12 reviews. It's still a matter of luck of the draw. Klun got lucky, and I didn't. Oh Well. I'll try again in the May contest.

And, if I may go back, I have just entered in my purchase order for the Nickent 4DX Ironwood with V2 Graphite Shaft 3Hybrid. Hopefully this will improve my long iron shots. Now, I just need to figure out if I should remove my cheap 5W or my 3I as I will keep my 1I in my bag.

Well, I just received my shipping confirmation...My new 3H should arrive on Tuesday...This will give me a chance to try it out on Friday and then I can review it and the course that we play for the May contest.
