Hey guys, I need your input. I'm going to place an order for some logo golfballs using the white GGR logo:

Question is, what do you think would be the best ball to give away that is a good balance of performance and price? I could see, in addition to a gift card, that maybe second and third runners up in monthly giveaways, and perhaps pools, would receive a sleeve through the mail.

Thoughts?

Chris, anything worth doing is worth doing right. Forget price, it's only a few dollars more, logo a ball that would give that "wow" factor.
Pro V1.

Thanks Bill. I guess it wouldn't say much about GGR if our logo was plastered all over a bunch of Top Flite XL's huh?

Chris, while I don't disagree with Bill, I'd also be VERY happy with a more modest expense, like the Bridgestone $25 balls or TM Burners. Once you stamp GGR on it, we can't possibly do anything other than keep it. Who would think about actually putting it in play and risking loosing it smile

Of coruse, if we did you them, we could then have something to blame when we didn't play well...like "Damn those GGR golf balls...Damn them all to hell...."

Chris,

I give away TaylorMade Burner TP balls on my radio show each week and they have gotten rave reviews from the lucky listeners.

I'm flattered, haha.. Seriously, though. My wife actually had a good point and recommended that I get both. Something high end for a nice gift/giveaway and something a little less pricey for mass promotion - you know the ones you leave laying in golf courses, give away to friends, etc. So both ideas are under consideration, and as always you guyz'z feedback is appreciated..

Some of the players won't have enough swing for the ProV's. TP Red and Black are nice. Two kinds sounds good.

Anything free from GGR is good.

Chris. While getting some ProV1's would be nice, I think the price is a bit much, especially since most amatuers don't play well enough to need that ball. Of the lower prices balls I've used, I'd have to say the Top Flite Gamer is my favorite. Good performance and it's about half the price of the ProV1. It may be a TOP Flite, but it's not hard at all. Good spin, good distance, and easy on the wallet, all in one ball. What's not to like?

Don has a point, I hit a Gamer that I found on the course and it wasn't rock-like at all.
Unfortunately, a lot of the places that do logo golf balls don't give you an infinite amount of choices, it's usually an expensive one (Titleist) or cheap one (basic model).
Guess you could let us know what the options might be and get a vote?

I was probably just going to use Golfsmith since we might be able to negotiate a discount. They seem to have a huge selection:

http://www.golfsmith.com/pr/browse.php?N...o=0&Ntk=All

They also have the GAMER, with logo at 12 dozen would be $21.99 per dozen, or about $263.88 give or take. That's not too bad. I guess my only concern with going that low would be the lack of interest by people submitting reviews, but then again, if they were more of a consolation prize (maybe give away a gift card to the winner and a sleeve of balls to runners up) it might not be that big of a deal...

If you're using them to get people to submit reviews, I'd say you're correct that people are not going to react well to the offer of something with a poor reputation, no matter how good it actually is. Give away less of a ball that is, and is perceived as, top quality, like GGR.

In light of the current economic situation this world is facing, do what my company does for employees in recognition for their outstanding service and saving $millions... send an ecard (which replaced the $50 bonuses - before tax).

Chris, golfballs.com does the same thing, I've used them before and there is usually some sort of discount or free setup special. Anyway, just another option.

Thanks Scott. I'll look into them and compare prices. I didn't even think of them. How's their service, by the way? I had them as an affiliate partner years ago, but could never make anything with only like a $1 per dozen balls sold. Didn't even pay the site hosting fees.

Chris, Dont forget to figure in shipping costs if you are thinking of sending out a sleeve of golf balls as a sub prize. I'm thinking the shipping costs coule equal the price of a sleeve of balls that sell for $20 a dozen. Last time I shipped a small package, it cost around $8 UPS. Might be worth checking prices for shipping a sleeve of balls before you invest in LOGO balls.

Hmmm... I thought maybe using something like priority mail would be cost effective. Isn't that just a few bucks for a relatively small padded mailer? Not sure, haven't done it in a while...

Chris, Golfballs.com looks like their delivery options include free is you're willing to wait a few weeks for the creation and delivery. The faster you want it the more you pay it seems if I read the shipping information on the checkout page correctly. They offer free shipping on non-custom stuff but I put some things in the shopping cart and it seemed like they were doing free shipping. but maybe further down the line they shove in a charge but it didn't look like it. Plus they offer free setup too.

anyway, just fyi.

Chris, look in to the USPS flat rate boxes. They have a couple of sizes and no matter what it weighs, it is a flat rate. There aren't any that are as small as a sleeve of golf balls, but you can find the smallest one and fill it with newspaper so the sleeve of balls doesn't rattle around.
