So what do folks think about Donte Stallworth (NFL Football player) who got 30 days (plus other things) in jail for DUI manslaughter charge from back in Feb? According to his lawyer, he gets roughly 30 days of jail, 2 years of having to have his travel/work/where-abouts schedule approved by the court, 1000 hrs of community service and 8 years of some sort of probation. He also settled with the family for some figure, reported to be between 2-5 Million.

Think we could get a similar deal if we did that?

Well, at least they caught him Scott. I'm sure there's a bunch of these that go unsolved or relatively unpunished - like hit and runs and stuff. Seems like a very small price to pay for taking a life though. Unbelievable.

Another sad case of a rich athlete buying his way out of trouble. The family wanted the money more than they wanted justice, obviously. How ironic, Michael Vick spends more time in jail for killing dogs...

Sure...if you have 2-5 million sitting around to pass out to the greedy family.

Yes, there are. My son was hit by a car three years ago and the driver was never caught. Luckily, he wasn't seriously injured but the girl he was walking with ended up with two surgeries.

I think the FAIR thing to do here would be to let the parents of the person killed run over Stallworth once a day for the next 30 days, or until it wasn't needed any longer. I'd let them borrow my pickup truck to use to run him over.

How about continuously with a motorcycle for 30 days!! It would be a slow and painful ordeal, he would not for get that,.Then the last thing we put the guy outta our misery with your truck.

It's enough to make a person sick the way celebrities and athletes get away with things that the rest of us would spend our lives paying for. I still think OJ got away with killing his wife.

Jan, I almost mentioned that myself. The OJ debacle really bothered me. It told me that if a person is rich and famous enough, they will be allowed to murder their wife. Being a woman, that didn't sit too well with me.
