Started jotting notes down when I see a particularly good tip on an instruction video. Today at the range, I was trying to fix my poor iron striking and figured it out. Once I got home I added more notes to my list, since I always say that I figure stuff out at the range then promptly forget the next time I play.
Anyone else keep a note book or something of their personal tips or techniques?

I write in my golf journal every time I play or practice or have a lesson. It does help me remember what I've learned.

I haven't even thought about that but what a great idea! I've been working with the pro at my club a couple times a week and keep finding myself forgetting half of what he tells me. I'm going to start taking notes!

I used to. I would either make notes if I found something that worked and write down some key swing thoughts to help me remember what I was doing. Sometimes I would cut out an article in a magazine and keep as well if I saw something that worked. Sometimes if I read a rule interpretation in one of the golf articles that I thought might come in handy, i'd cut that out and put in my rule book I carried just in case I needed it to refer to.

Here's what I currently have written down - thing I have to keep reminding myself (or new tips) vs. things I always think about.
-Flop shot (this was just in Golf Digest, tip from Annika): feet wider like bunker; open clubface; play ball front of stance; swing arms-y; weight over front foot.
-Bunker: short shot-wider feet/very open; club face angle open = angle feet are open (create right angle). Longer shot = narrower stance, less open.
-Irons: to make solid contact drive right knee towards target on downswing (initiate), start w/weight on inside edge of right foot.
-Ball position: (I have a little sketch) basically showing inside forward foot for driver (lined up w/shoulder or armpit); lined up with logo for FW; lined up w/left ear mid iron; lined up with nose (short iron).
-Uphill or downhill lie: widen stance, shoulders parallel to slope. Downhill will need ball a little more forward, uphill a little more back.

All that is stuff that I try to do, also. For once!

My main focus these days is taking the club back on the right line and making sure I don't decel. Taking a few short take-aways to make sure my club path is along the line that'll send the ball where I want is about the biggest part of what I do. Otherwise, I try not to think too much.
