Tour players forced to mingle ... and don't like it - I’ve said this before and probably will say it many, many more times.

I always respect what you have to say Bill. And for the first time in a long time I am welloff enough financially to heed that type of advice. But as a raised Irishman I hate to spend money senselessly. I always beleive in paying a fair price for quality. I am also smart enough to know when I cannot handle something myself. There are professionals that get paid to do things, doctors, lawyers and PGA golf instructors. I would really like to get in contact with someone who you have associated with and that in itself is something, trust. People dont always realize that aspect of life. I'll PM you my cell number and do with it what you thinkn is right.

FYI,
Todd Sonnes Golf while a good golf teaching school, teaches basicly one size fits all style. While they work to give you a Pro style swing they do not try to work with what you have. They also don't tell you that they will tear your swing down and start you over which will cost you lots of money (at $100 per lesson)and lots of painful rounds of golf. While the instructors a good I'm not sure I would pay for something that may not be what you're looking for.

Hey thanks golfguy and welcome to the GGR forums! Make sure you get in the June giveaway as we're giving away two prizes this month. Odds are usually pretty good as we limit winners to the Top Posters list in this forum (on the left).

Where ya from?

Hi golfguy. Do you live in the same area as Chief? Have you taken lessons or learned on your own?

Yikes. Sorry to hear about that Chief. What happened? Hope the recovery goes well. At least you can work on those one-handed drills that Ledbetter is always demonstrating... smile

Oh, Chief, what a bummer! Perhaps you can work on your mental game. That's the best idea I can come up with.
Laney

PS Do you want to tell us how it happened?

sorry to hear that, man. I thought I broke an elbow back in college with some hijinks involving a slip on wet tile in a dorm...ouch, I know how it must hurt.

Somewhere between stupidity and genious like Aimee suggests. I was cutting up some branches with the chainsaw and set down the saw, when I turned around I stepped on a piece of cut wood and it rolled out from under me and I landed on the splitting stump. Should get the cast off in about 3 weeks. But I was told the rehab will be a bear. Been plinking away at my Gibson 335 though. Gotta do something.
Thanks for the kind words. I might be able to get into some kind of shape for the year end pumpkin slice tourney. It seems everyone is getting a lot better while I atrophy.

Chief, on the homepage frequencyspecific.com, there is a story about how this machine helped Terrell Owens play in the superbowl several weeks after he broke his ankle. I've met the woman who wrote this. One of my buddies accidentally hit me in the knee with a golf club while showing me his latest grip. I used this machine and it really seemed to help my healing. Don't know if this idea will grab you, just throwing it out there.

I really enjoyed reading this thread as I'm thinking about taking up golf lessons again. I don't get out on the range often enough to practice and my consistency falls off. I'm moving to Canada shortly and hope to start out fresh with a good trainer.

I signed up for a golf class during summer session at my university. It was the best thing that ever happened to my game. I was a real hacker, and the first time I played after the class was over I shaved 12 strokes off of my average 18-hole score. My drives were straighter and my short game was much improved.

Markham. Now I'm not all that familiar with the place so I hope you know where that is. All I can say is that Markham is in Ontario, just north of Toronto.

Wow. That is pretty impressive stuff. How has it being for you since then? Have you improved as you pratised more what you learnt? It's examples like yours that make want to go back to the drawing board.

I had the same thing happen after I took a course. Thing is though at first the strokes come off in bunches then it gets harder to shave the last few strokes. Keep at it though

Way back when, I believe that you mentioned getting different instructors. I haven't found this useful for any sport - I find that consistency of instruction allows me to build on my learning over time, because they get to know how I work. I don't have to spend the first part of each lesson tutoring my instructor on what I've worked on before.
