I am a new lady golfer and have been using my husbands clubs or renting from the course we play at. I think its time to get my own, I justy dont know what to get. I was looking a a set of Wilson prostaff, also a set of 2009 Salenzger Mystique. I also considered a set of used Square Two Kathy Whitworth II and a used set of precept. I realy need some advice!

Find a golf pro shop and talk to the people there. They can get you fitted with clubs that match your size and your swing. You will enjoy playing more with your own clubs. I can promise you that.

Ally,

Having looked for clubs recently as last week for a new golfer lady-friend, it seems difficult to find irons as affordable as mens clubs are. And finding used ones at most golf stores is from what I've seen very hit and miss.

So mens clubs with senior shafts I've heard is a possible if th weight and length are ok for you, as is bitting the bullet and buying a true lady's set from a golf store. I'm not a big fan of the all-in-one sets in general but for the beginner lady it's that or $600+ for new name brand irons.

Getting fitted is a good idea as was mentioned above.

Another idea is to look on Craigslist for someone in your city selling a set of used lady's clubs. Even in my town there were a few but beware, many of what I saw online we OLD clubs..

Ally; If you want a good set of clubs, let me know, and I'll be happy to build you a very good set of irons, and woods if you'd like. The cost would be much lower than the $600 price Scott just mentioned, and the quality would be excellent. I built my wife a very nice set of irons a few years ago, and I can recommend the same set to you, as the quality is very good, and the price is very reasonable.

Welcome Ally,
Another suggestion might be to go to a local golf galaxy or golfsmith shop, if one is nearby. They can fit you and build a quality set and the prices should be reasonable as they carry several heads and shafts from which to build from. It also possible that they may have some quality used sets which they can fit you to and modify if necessary. My wife is thinking of taking up the game and we probally will go that way ourselves as both shops are nearby us.
