Are you folks playing more golf now that the economy is down and things are getting tighter? I find that I'm finding less time to ease the stress due to trying to close the gaps.

The economy is down? confused

Charles Feltman invented the Coney Island Hot Dog. He died in 1910, leaving a business worth over a million dollars. His son carried on and even though there was a great depression, had a thriving business. He didn't know about the bad economy as he was deaf and couldn't read. His son visited him and, through sign language, let him know how bad the economy was, how people were losing money, couldn't find work and were going broke. After learning about it, thinking about it and convincing himself it was bad, he closed his hot dog locations in the next 3 months because he was going broke. frown

BTW, In answer to your question, I started playing golf again because all the people who are are saving green fee money make it easier to get tee times. Play is much faster with less people on the course. shocked smile

I have not lessened my playing. It's my one vice (ok, one of...). Right now my situation allows me to continue to play so I do. I'm fortunate in that and I recognize that.

Have not changed my frequency of play. Probably playing more at our county courses than others since it's so cheap for residents ($24-26 on weekend to walk, which is half what non-residents pay). We are probably shifting the few discretionary dollars that we have into golf, since it does feel like a mini vacation spending 4-5 hours outdoors. There is no question we have seen no decrease in traffic at the course, if anything it is busier than in the past.

not playing less due to economics - however for some reason this year have only played 7 times. The 2 main factors are weather (everytime I book somewhere it lashes it down) and kids - have 3 of them and spend more time running after that.
Cant seem to justify at present going out for 5+ hrs for a game especially as I have a golf week in september that the wife is paying for!

I haven't slowed down at all with playing golf. Really here where I live, it's just getting started. Now if we could only get rid of the rain on the weekends. I play more on the weekends. I love getting up early and heading out. It's quieter and less people.

Play less? Absolutely not...! eek You never know how much time you have left. Tee it up every chance you get. How are you ever going to "pass the game on" if you don't play as often as you can? Best way to learn is to be a "student" of the game by playing and looking for great golfing mentors. Visit the "forum" daily. smile

Well, I find that I don't have a lot of time to play, but that is more due to the fact that my husband is busy doing extra work and I'm with our daughter. My extra work happens in the late evenings, when it's too dark to golf (yes, I know, it's never too dark to golf!).
