I have been reading an author by the name of Harlan Coben. Any fans out there of his books? He is considered to be mystery/fiction.

I've read one or two of his books, good light reading.
If you like mystery, Sue Grafton is also good. Her series of books have titles based off the alphabet (ex: "A is for Alibi").

I've been working my way through Dan Brown's lineup. Obviously started with The DaVinci Code, and just finished Digital Fortress. Thinking of Angels & Demons next since I'd like to give that a spin before the movie comes out. Any fans of this guy?

I would probably enjoy Tom Clancy, but have yet to pick one up. Definitely do not make enough time to read.

The movie IS out - I saw it several weeks ago.. fantastic, moves a lot faster than the DaVinci Code with a thinner plot. I guarantee you will not guess the ending.. I am a fan of Brown and somewhat a sucker for that sort of stuff. Somewhat in the same area, check out the Oak Island Treasure website and its history as the "traps" were supposed to have been designed by DaVinci himself.

Reading? You need to realize 2 important facts about reading: 1) if it's that good, they'll make a movie out of it and for the cost of a book you get a ticket...2) In the time it takes to read a novel, you could have played at least 54 holes of golf or done maybe 400 equipment/course reviews almost assuring yourself of a prize from the GGR contests. Do you guys just want to throw that money away???

Seriously, if you like adventure/fiction, all the Clive Cussler novels are great. I'm behind by 1.5 but have read almost all of them.

Excellent points there. But I have to say that I feel much less stress turning a page than standing over a golf ball before I start my swing.

Quite honestly, I'm a little shocked to learn you don't read between shots while you're playing. There's a least a couple of hours reading time.

BUT, I guess I shouldn't be surprised.........It's quite obvious you, and a few others (no names mentioned), don't read your rule book....... and I guess most of that would be read on the course.

Since I got the IGolf Rule book with pictures for my Itouch, who needs to read the rules...just bounce around till you find a picture that says you can move the ball and you're golden...right???

I am in the process of reading "Battle Cry of Freedom" by James McPherson, it's a history on the Civil War, fantastic book.

Klun, no wonder you don't have time to play more golf. You're reading to much. You know, you could get audio books and put them on your IPod and listen to them WHILE you play...

Audio books are cheating plus I don't have an Ipod.

Oh, I like the idea of listening to an audio book while playing golf! Unfortunately I don't walk and chew gum at the same time because I get distracted. So trying to pay attention to a book is probably out of the question...

Just started reading "E=mc2, What Does It Mean and Why Should You Care?" OK, a little heavy but I'm learning a few things I didn't know and I can actually follow it and not choke on the math.

I like the Patricia Cornwell books I think I have read all of them the last one was The Front.

I used to be a big fan of Michelle Malkin.. one of us sort of lost it during the Bush years.

She has really taken a different road. I liked the fact finding she did even though it was one sided I think the book has its purpose.

I saw this post and have a great author. Mitch Albom is one of my favorite authors. I loved Tuesdays with Morrie. I just finished his new book Have A Little Faith. Great book and recommend to everyone.

SHocker here...after not reading a book for like 2 years, I've finished one, read another and started yet another since mid Dec. Working on my "less stress" plan for 2010...

Just finished The Lost Symbol by Dan Brown. Very typical Brown...My favorite is still Angel & Demons (of his Robert Langdon, series).

Another series I read was the Admiral Thrawn Trilogy in the Star Wars Universe. These were written by Timothy Zahn.

Oh, and I'm still trying to get through Battle Cry of Freedom. I set it down and have had a hard time getting back into it.

I have another book besides my chair that I am trying to get started. This one is Thunder in the Mountains: The West Virginia Mine War 1920-21 by Lon Savage.

Anyone reading books by Terry Goodkind? My wife is working her way through all of his books, and I just finished a rather short book of his. I'm reading NET FORCE at the moment by Tom Clancy. Only just started it but it seems pretty good so far.

Never got into Tom Clancy's other series, I have stayed with the Jack Ryan series, although, I did read Red Storm Rising (his WWIII) which was a fantastic read, even though it was well over 1000 pages.

again, Good book = make movie = pop corn and done in 2 hrs. So I figure for each book I don't read and just watch the movie, it saves me at least 6-12 hrs of my life.....Priceless!

I remembered the name of the Goodkind book I just read. Debt of Bones. Very good book and quite short so it's a good way to figure out if you like this author or not. If you have ever watched the TV series, Legend of the Seeker, it's based on Terry Goodkind's books.
