I went to Iceland with my daughter last year on a non golf-related trip. I was astounded at the number of golf courses there, though sadly I didn't get to play, since I had no babysitter! It's odd to think of Iceland as a golf destination.

By the way, if anyone wants to go, often Iceland Air allows for a free stopover of a few days if you are taking that airline to Europe.

Golfchick,
I can honestly say that I've never considered golf on Iceland. Guess that just shows how much golf there really is all over the world, despite us thinking that we have it all in our own areas!

Yes, it was odd. The landscape is so stark heading in from the airport, with gulls, rocks, hot springs, and all of the golf courses!

If you enjoy outdoor activities, I'd totally recommend it. There are so many outdoor things to do, whether you want to sit in a tour bus or head out on an ATV. Go in July or early August, though, because I was there in late August and the weather turns quite cold and fall-like at that time.

Iceland has a twenty-four hour golf tournament in complete sunlight. I think it would be a lot of fun to play on the island.

I agree. That would be very interesting. I always thought it would be fun to see that country. Don't they have hot springs or something that are really popular? I think I saw it on a National Geographic program once..
