Last night at the range I noticed that I seemed to have picked up an unfortunate tendancy: I seem to be be swinging "around" my body so that I end up facing left of my target, which is exactly where the ball goes. I was doing this just enough to maybe see the beginning of a bad habit forming. Normal shot shape is straight toward the target which is where I end up facing. I seem to be turning my whole body to the left as opposed to stoping the body turn at the target with only the arms continuing..hard to describe..any thoughts as to what may be happening. Again, not every swing but enough to have concern that some fundamental is lacking or on the wane.

Oh, Fred, you've picked up my husband's bad habit...
Take some time at the range to swing with your feet together, half swings with irons. You can't turn your body that way.
Stop it before it takes root!
Focus on swinging "down the line", easy swings.

Yeah, relax, do some practice time, see a PGA pro for a lesson. Or post a video of your swing (Yeah, Yeah!). I struggled a lot today but tried to just stay loose and thing "low and slow...."

Went to the range today to observe my husband's lesson. Money well spent. Also reinforced that reading all the "tips" in the golf mag's will just mess you up. A pro watching what you are doing will straighten you right out.

Yes! The old feet together drill, I had forgot about this and tried it this weekend with good results, overturning the body has abated in the normal swing, for now but I need to watch out for this. Thanks Aimee for reminding me!
