So some folks I know somewhat at work just returned from their big lifetime trip to Scotland, playing the big courses like St. Andrews, etc. That's something I'd love to do one day.

I know it won't be cheap but does anyone else have one of those ultimate golf trips they really would like to do (and plan to do) before they can't? I would do a trip like this but the big problem is finding people to go. I can't say it's a trip I'd like to do by myself and none of the people I play with would drop that sort of money to go play golf. But I would. Just to be able to see what it's like, experience it, say I've been there....

Anyone else?

I always read about people's experiences in Scotland and it sounds like so much fun, not just the golf but the people and experiences. You have to be prepared to play in really foul weather, and I'm not sure I could deal with that.
According to some articles, it's really come down in cost because of the economy.

If I went I would have to go for at least 2 weeks. Theres so much I would want to do aside from golf that it would take that long and since I may not get a chance to go again I would want to cram it all in.

I'd like to do Pebble Beach, Augusta, and St. Andrews. I think it would also be fun to tee one up on the peak of Mt. Everest and give it a whack.(I don't ever see this happening because my fat butt at climbin' Mt. Everest)

I'd love to do something like that for 2 weeks, but I think the closest I'm likely to get to Scotland is a good bottle of single malt. And I don't even drink the stuff.

So we should plan something...you know for a few years from now to give us time to save up. Any takes for Scotland or Pebble Beach in 2011?
