Any feedback on Tour Edge QLS Irons? I finally went in for my club fitting (at Austads). These don't look too bad, and they've got a pretty good deal on them. I'm looking for something that's pretty forgiving, since my swing has deteriorated a bit the last few years.

What do you think of these irons? I don't mind saving money, but I don't want inferior clubs just to save a few bucks.

No, no insight on those specific irons. Tour Edge usually makes a decent product and at least one of their other lines is in this year game improvement class. I assume from the wide sole design of these clubs they are super forgiving which maybe what you're looking for.

Any way you can take a club to the range and try them?

Yeah, I can take one to the range and hit it. Of course, if my swing is good that day, I'll hit them great. If it's not, I won't.

I'm looking for something that's a little more forgiving, hopefully to help a bit when my swing's not perfect.

I was looking at the Calloway Big Bertha irons, but they may not be able to get them custom fit to me. I like the look and feel of the Tour Edge, but I don't know if they're of comparable quality. I suspect they're OK.

I'm going back to Austad's tomorrow. I think I'll finish the fitting, and take a demo to the range. If it works, I'll go ahead and order them. If it's shaky, I'll try something else.

There are too many options - it would be easier if there weren't all those choices.

I have not played the QLS but I have played a bunch of the Tour Edge gear. The quality is top notch.

I owned a set of the JMax QL which were the set before the QLS. They were good the only problem I had was the wide sole didn't fit my swing.

GD; You might want to read my new review on the Acer XK irons on the front page of the site. Excellent irons, and a great price. The regular XK or the XK HT(high trejectory) might be what you'd want.

I ended up ordering a set of Ping G10's. They seemed to be a little more consistent for me.
