Will Michelle Wie now go to the next level? - I can’t say that I’m a huge Michelle Wie fan.

She’s a gifted golfer and, even at 20 years old, has shown glimpses of the talent we’ve heard about for the last 10 years or more. So I do have t...

Have you guys seen the insert in one of the recent golf magazines that has some of the top athletes and their handicaps and swing sequences? i'm sorry, but looking at Big Ben's swing and I think it was Jerome Bettis, there's not way those guys are a true 3 and 8 handicap respectively. They so their handicaps are estimated, but I'm sorry, with those swing sequences, it's hard for me to believe Big Ben's shooting 75s on a regular basis...not by the rules...

Ugly swings can be effective, and I guess if you hit the ball as far as they do they can make up strokes.
I've played with guys with awful swings who hit the ball really solid, somehow at impact they do something right. Or one putt everything.

Well, some of them had legit handicaps, and I was surprised to see Tony Romo as a PLUS 3.3. John Elway was a 1.1 or something. But for a lot of them it was "estimated" which to me means they aren't recording ALL their rounds.

But you are right, they could be excellent with short game and/or hit it really long. But I think I could take Big Ben just looking at the swing sequences smile . But as in football, he doesn't always win pretty but he wins smile

What these guys probably excel at is focus. They are used to dealing with pressure and having to execute. Heck, if you had to compare having a 350 lb lineman coming at you or hitting a golf ball over a pond, I'm sure it seems easy to a guy like Ben.

It's not how PRETTY the swing is. What really matters is how CONSISTANT it is. Jim Furck is a perfect example of this. His swing is rather weird, but it's CONSISTANT as can be. That's why it works for him.
