Best Fairway Woods?

OK, I been searching for fairway woods for quite awhile. I've tried several brands (Titleist, Callaway, Cleveland, Taylormade) and several configurations (three wood/five wood or three wood/ hybrid). So far I cannot find a configuration I really like. My problem is I hook them all. Maybe I'm over swinging or maybe they are too light. Also, I use regular graphite shafts in my driver (Callaway FT-5) and irons (Wilson Staff Ci6). Maybe I should try stiffer shafts. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

My ball position is just off the left heel. Just a little farther back than with the driver. My issue is I don't normally hook my driver nor do I hook my three iron. Obviously, something is different. However, it may not be the clubs.

Are you talking about when you hit your woods, off a tee, or off the deck? I hit the ball of a tee with the ball at my left heel, but play the ball in the middle of my stance when hitting off the deck. You might try this and see if it solves your problem. As for your hooking only your woods, it sounds like you just may be OVERSWINGING, as you mentioned. I know that when I try to hit the ball HARDER, I tend to hit a big nasty duck hook. Once I learned to not swing harder, but EASIER, the hook went away completely. You might also try a weaker grip with your woods, and see if that solves the problem. Could this be part of your problem? Too strong a grip with your woods?

Thanks Don and srushing, I think you both are correct (that's why I love these forums). My hook is more of a pull hook, and it's probably caused by over swinging. I did find a three wood with an open face and that will help too. Hope you both play well this weekend. Thanks Again,

TM 200 series are excellent woods with great reviews. They are hard to find. I find the regular flex shafts are very consistent.
FWIW !!!

Hi Everyone, Well I got a lesson and found a stiff shafted 3 wood that I can get airborne off the deck. Now all I need is a relatively dry course to play. Thanks for all the advice. You were correct.
