So last weekend I posted my Callaway X Tour's on ebay for sale. I recent;y got a question from a possible buyer about the serial numbers. So I grabbed the irons having never looked before and couldn't find any stamped on the clubface. So to the net I went and found out that Callaway apparently stamps the serial number ... UNDER the grip on the shaft. ??? So that would mean if that's true that if I change the shafts in the irons, then the serial number is gone. Apparently they also put a sticky sticky sticker on the 8I above the hostel, which would suggest, ALSO on the SHAFT which again means if I replace the shafts the serial #'s will be gone. Am I understanding this right? If I am, what the heck good does that do? Lots of people change shafts and to do so and lose the serial #'s of the clubs seems...well dumb!
Anyone ever heard of this?
