I'd like to ASK ALL of the members to read my product review on the EQUMEN short sleeve T-shirt. The shirt is a CORE COMPRESSION shirt, designed to hold the core muscles in place. I've been testing one, and all I can say is it's a GREAT product. Well worth trying if you want to play good golf. The reason I'm posting this is two fold. First, I'd like to make sure you read the review, and go to the EQUMEN site and look at their products.
SECOND. The gentleman I've been working with, Ben Wells, has offered to give this site TWO of the CORE PRECISION T-shirts for an upcoming contest. Chris and I are working on an idea for this promotion, and this is one very good reason why YOU should take the time to go to the site and look around, You might just win one of the shirts, and it would be good if you knew what you wanted to pick from the site as YOUR PRIZE.

One thing I'd like to see as a REQUIREMENT OF WINNING, would be for YOU to do your own review on the shirt you win. Seems only fair I'd say. The shirts are excellent, and start at $89 each. So you'll be winning a pretty nice prize I'd say.

After I get to test a long sleeve version of their product, I'll be writting an In-depth review for the front page of this site. Be sure to read it, as I truly believe you will find it interesting and of use to all of you. I will be sending an invite to Ben asking him to join in this Forum discussion and offer his advice to anyone that has any questions about his product line.

I'm hoping we can do more of this type of thing in the future with some other companies with their assistance. But we NEED your input to make that happen. So please read my review, VISIT the EQUMEN.com site and join in. YOU might just win a nice prize for your time.

OK, Don, I read your review and visited their web site.
I agree that compression garments really make you feel better both during and after physical activity. It always feels weird for a few minutes after I put on the UnderArmour top, but you get used to it in a few minutes and it becomes like a tight second skin!
Looks like the Equmen product is strictly compression and not necessarily for cold weather.

No, it's not for cold weather. It breaths very well, so it can be worn in the summer as well as cooler weather. I've worn the short sleeve T-shirt in 84* weather with the sun shining bright and didn't get too hot. I'm sure it would be goood in cold weather also, just like any extra layer of clothing. I'll now for sure next time out and the temperture is below 40*

If it is not "fleecy" like a soft brushed material on the inside it's probably not really cold weather gear...but if you're one of those guys who doesn't get cold easily, I'm sure it will work well for you. The true "cold gear" is not comfortable in warm weather because it really traps all the heat (the fleecy softer lining material absorbs moisture), doesn't breathe quite as much.

The Core Precision shirts breath quite well and wick off moisture very well also. So NO, it's not designed to keep you warm in the winter. But just having an extra layer of clothing under your golf shirt WILL HELP some. Especially if you're wearing the long sleeve version. ME, if I'M cold, I'll wear a loose fittnig jacket in cold weather. I like the idea of being able to wear this Equmen T-shirt ALL YEAR ROUND, if I want to.

So is this sort of an Under Armour undershirt type of thing? Surely if it fits that tight you wouldn't want to wear it without a golf shirt over it, well some of us wouldn't. That's the only thing thats not clear from the review. Otherwise, nice job Don.

Scott. Yes, it's designed to be worn UNDER another shirt. But if you look at the Equmen site, the photos of the shirts look pretty good without a shirt over them. Of course, the guys in those photos are in a lot better shape then most of us, me included. But YES, some of us wouldn't want to not wear a golf shirt over it in fairness to others. Us OLD and FAT golfers have to think of others around us, and wear a golf shirt on top.

Glad you said it Don, I don't think anyone other than those model guys should wear that by itself! There is a guy at my gym who wears one of those types of "fitness" (tighter) shirts and he has some major "love handle" action and let me tell you, there's only so much the garment can handle.

Wow those shirts do look pretty good. I have never actually thought about wearing one for golf however I do wear a compression shirt for hockey.

Next time you go out to hit a few balls, why not wear the shirt you wear for hockey, and find out if you like it. I really like the Equmen shirt I've been testing. Just got a long sleeve version that I need to try out in the next day or two when the weather warms up a little. Got 18 inches of snow the day before the shirt arrived, and haven't had a chance to wear it yet.

Hey Guys. My name is Ben and I am part of the team here at Equmen. Don invited me to join this forum in case you had any questions regarding our products.

Feel free to ask.

I also play golf with a handicap of 14 (give or take a few - 11 during the holidays; 17 after a long winter)

In regards to the Equmen Core Precision Underhsirt, we originally designed the garment to improve posture and support the core for the average guy on a daily basis. By doing both of these things we were hoping to help reduce back pain and help guys look a little slimmer.

However since our launch there has been a huge interest in our product within the golfing community. This is mainly due to its ability to help improve the setup posture and provide core stability which is critical in a golf swing.

We have since done a lot of bio-mechanical testing and these claims are now support scientifically.

Is this product just for men or do you make a model for women?

Hi Ben.I guess my first question would be, how do you guys differentiate yourselves from Under Armour? Do you have proprietary technology in your fabrics? What are the advantages of the Equmen product versus others that compete in your space?

You know, along the lines of new technology making players better, I was watching football Monday night and the hosts were talking about this new mouth pieces that players were using that actually, according to the tests these commentary guys had seen, made the players more flexible, better postured and better centered. So according to them just using this new mouth piece made players "better". So I guess we have come along way with biomechanical testing and product development. wow!

Scott, It's my opinion, that a piece of DUCT TAPE over the mouth would help more than any mouth piece they might have. The LESS they talk, the less they show off how dumb they are.

Hi Chris,

The main differentiating point of our products is the patented helix mapping technology. This is based on the "criss cross" taping technique that phyisiotherapists use to improve posture and support the back. This is built in to the gament and once you put it on you feel it gently pull your shoulders back and feel very supported around the lower back and core.

Thanks Ben. I remember a good tape job from my old football days, and the amazing support that good technique can bring. It will be interesting to try the product out. Do you guys sell direct only, or have you established yourself in any major sporting goods chains? Is this something that's part of the longer term strategy?

We are also stocked in most Saks Fifth Ave stores. At this stage have not aligned ourselves with any sporting chains but are looking to get a couple of top golfers on the tour wearing our product. I can't say which one but we do have a player in the top 10 trialling. Hopefully he feels the improvement enough to wear it despite multi million dollar endorsement deals from the major brands.

Just wanted to update you a little. Chris is going to have the two EQUMEN shirts as prizes for the next review contest. It will run for November and December, and end on Christmas Eve. So get your reviews in and have a chance to win one of these great shirts. Will also have gift eards as prizes, but Chris will give you the details when he gets back in town and can post them for you.
I also got to test the long sleeve extra compression version of the Equmen shirts on Wednesday. Same great feeling of more strength. I also didn't feel stiff and sore the next day after hitting a HUGH bucket of range balls. 180 balls in the bucket, and not stiff the next day is pretty good for this old goat. That makes 8 practice sessions in a row with no stiffness afterwards. Must be the shirts, as I'm not getting any younger.

Saks, that's exciting Ben. I would imagine once you have a couple tour players wearing the shirts, that will assist with the marketing efforts. Best of luck with that.
