Fact is, the more people enjoy their time at an event, the more they will attend. And that egquls more MONEY coming in, and that means HIGHER prize money for the players. So if the players have to be nice to the customers that pay to get in, that's part of the job. Some players seem to understand this a lot better than others. If the players have the right atitude, they can have fun too, and it's not work, but fun time to relax with new friends. I remember reading about someone telling VJ that he could hit a better drive than what VJ had just hit. It was the practice round, so VJ just turned around, pointed at the guy, and asked him to come up and have a shot at it with VJ's driver. The whole crowd just loved it, and the guy had to put up or shut up. I hear Tiger did the same thing a few weeks ago at course Opening. He hit 2 or 3 really BAD tee shots, and then asked a small kid to see if he could do better. The kid did just that. Hit a 200 yard drive right down the middle. Not bad for a 9 year old kid. I'm sure everyone eat it up, and the kid has a day he will remember his whole life.
