I have nothing against the rule that professional golfers have to meet with sponsors and/or important people. There is a price you have to pay in any job and this is somthing professional golfers should do. They need to meet the people that are responisble for money that is brought into them on the tournament. Also, with every job they are things that you are going to like and dislike. We still have to go everyday and do your job. Playing golf is a pros job and they have to take everything that goes along with it.

I agree with you PSU. It's the same for other pro atheletes, celebrities and others who benefit from sponsors and contributors. It comes with the territory.

Fact is, the more people enjoy their time at an event, the more they will attend. And that egquls more MONEY coming in, and that means HIGHER prize money for the players. So if the players have to be nice to the customers that pay to get in, that's part of the job. Some players seem to understand this a lot better than others. If the players have the right atitude, they can have fun too, and it's not work, but fun time to relax with new friends. I remember reading about someone telling VJ that he could hit a better drive than what VJ had just hit. It was the practice round, so VJ just turned around, pointed at the guy, and asked him to come up and have a shot at it with VJ's driver. The whole crowd just loved it, and the guy had to put up or shut up. I hear Tiger did the same thing a few weeks ago at course Opening. He hit 2 or 3 really BAD tee shots, and then asked a small kid to see if he could do better. The kid did just that. Hit a 200 yard drive right down the middle. Not bad for a 9 year old kid. I'm sure everyone eat it up, and the kid has a day he will remember his whole life.
