If you are in the market for a used club or clubs for you bag, make sure you check out Golfsmith Pre-owned clubs on their site.

I have purchased 4 Pre-owned drivers from the site and each one of them has been in really good condition, and the prices are excellent. Some better than others of course, but if you know what you are doing you can get some really good deals.

I just ordered two Cleveland drivers for $70 each. Original price was $380 each, for a saving of $620 total. And I got free shipping since my order was over $100. Thanks to Chris and the GGR site contests, I had $100 in gift cards to use, so I only had to come up with about $49 of my own money. Thanks again Chris. I can't wait to get the new drivers in so I can pull the shafts and install a couple of new shafts I just got in for testing. Will be fun to compare the new shafts in the same head as my favorite driver.

With how often club manufacturers come out with new products, you can get better and better stuff in the pre-owned market. It's a great way to go, buy last year's technology for 1/4 of the price. Metal doesn't go bad.

Congrats on the new purchases. Awesome deals, too. Let us know how the new clubs are when you get to take them to the course.

My plan is to PULL the OEM shafts from both new drivers and just use the head to go with a few new shafts I have for testing. They both have R flex shafts, so I'm not expecting much for the drivers as is. Will take a look at the shaft in case it's not the OEM installed shaft, but will most likely just pull it first thing. Will let you know about the queality of the heads when they get here so you know if you might want to buy one.

Well, one of my new drivers just came in all the way from Georgia. It has the factory shaft and grip. Head is in real good shape, only a few small nicks on the sole near the back. Looks like nicks from irons being dropped in the bag and hitting the driver sole. Grip was a ittle dirty, but it cleaned up almost like new. I dont' think it has been hit very much going by the condition of the head and grip. Only one small problem. On the site it was listted as a 10.5* head. Turns out the TAG on the shaft says 10.5*. but the head is marked 9.5*. So I ordered a 10.5* and got in a 9.5* instead. As it turns out, when I was looking for this model driver, I WAS HOPING to find a 9.5*, but all they had listed in the computer was 3 10.5* drivers. So in reality I ended up with exactly what I was looking to fine with this driver. The second one is due in from Florida on Saturday by FEDEX. Come Saturday I'll know if I got 2 9.5* drivers or one 9.5* and one 10.5* drivers. Either way will be fine. I think I'll take it out to the range as is and give it a few swings to see if I can see much difference in launch angle with the 9.5* head compared to the 10.5* head driver I already have.

No cpmplaints on my end. I will take the club into my local store and show then the error of their ways. I assume someone just put the wrong loft on the sticker and they went by the sticker and not the head stamping. I wanted to try a 9.5* driver after seeing my back spin rate was a bit high, and now I've got the chance to do just that. Second driver is due tomorrow so I'll see if it's a 9.5* or a 10.5* pretty soon. They had 3 10.5* listed in their computer system. Maybe I should have ordered all 3 of them to increase my chances of get two 10.5* drivers as I ordered for my shaft tests.

I went out and hit the new driver with the R flex shaft and 9.58 loft head. Hit it pretty well for a R flex shaft. and the launch angle was fine. So now I'm hoping the second driver due in today will be another 9.5* and not the 10.5* I ordered. Either way will be fine as I can always instaall a low launch shaft in a 10.5* head and bring the launch angle down a degree or two. Time will tell I quess. should be here any minute.
